best ones???

imo:

kagemusha (MUST SEE!!! EPIC FILM, based on the true story/history of Shingen Takeda (warring states warlord) and his double.

Battle of the Red Cliffs (CHI BI): the 2 part film that is based on the historic battle at Chi Bi,  the biggest naval battle to ever happen in the world. It is taken from the novel "Romance of the Three Kingdoms", which is one of the best (and my favourite) novels to come from Asia. The Novel is based on historic facts, and it is a must see. (I am a bit of a three kingdoms fanatic, love everything about it, the films, tv series, novel, games, discussion, the lot.)

Three kingdoms: resurrection of the dragon: Another three kingdoms movie, this one almost solely about Zhao Yun (Zilong), one of the greatest warriors of the time and the last of Shu-Han's 5 Tiger Generals.

although the storyline is completely off arc with the novel (which to be honest isn't totally true to history in a lot of parts), it's still great to watch. I mean, in the novel, Zhou Yu wanted to kill Kongming at every opportunity, but always failed because kongming was a genius. I just sat back and enjoyed the movie, irregardless of the mistakes. some people can do that, others can't.

What happens when I come into this thread? For me foreign is you Brits and Yanks. So Godfather is the greatest foreign movie of all time.  ;D

No Indian movie here I see, just not good enough, strange or poor quality? I do wonder time to time how our films are seen in Europe and USA. Anyone ever watched one? What did you make of it?

Let's be honest, most Indian films are formulaic and aimed at uninitiated mass audiences - like most Hollywood films are, but on a much camper level. Thus most modern Indian movies aren't worthy of overseas attention in my opinion. Obvious and deserving exceptions include Devdas and Lagaan. Older Indian movies I loved include Sholay and Anushondhan (even though that one's in Bengali).

There, Indian movies mentioned :D

I've seen one Indian movie and I hated it, can't even remember what it was called.  For one thing it was way too long, and another thing I couldn't stand was the amount of time spent prancing about to shite music.
Unfortunately, even the most beautiful love stories finish, but they leave behind a lot of wonderful memories, like when my M1 and I kissed for the first time at Welkom, when she looked straight into my eyes and told me 'I love you'.

is the 2nd part out?  I've watched the 1st 2 hours movie and just before the big battle to start, the movie ended and said to be continue :(

Quite like the movie...probably because I'm an age of empire addict!

Just seen a French film called Tell No One where the 'bad guy' character is called - I shit you not - Phillip Neuville.

Don't let it put you off, as thrillers go it's better than anything I've seen from Hollywood or the uk in a few years. Not difficult.
