Not really made much of a difference when it comes to them being able to outspend most clubs has it.

Prattling on about Greizmann again this morning on sly sports news. The fuckers haven't even put a bid in yet. Must be great having such a good propaganda machine.

I was delighted when they spent a World record transfer fee on Pogba. It would be the same if they trigger Griezmann's €100 million release clause.

Griezmann would actually be worth well maybe north of half of that cost at least.

It doesn't matter how much he is actually worth. They still don't understand what their problem is since Ferguson retired, and they keep throwing money at it. Even the oil clubs have a better plan than Man Utd, not to mention Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham.

Point being after a while of buying the 'best' players and even playing without a clear/functional style they will end up winning more matches.
So no it's not about the money, but even with Mourinho as a manager or Paul Pogba marking at corners you will do pretty ok if you have Griezmann and co in the team. And well we all know that Neymar will be there any day now, together with Bale.

They're fucked in terms of actually being long-term challengers until they sort out the spine of their team with 2 absolute rocks of central defenders, a genuine world class CM, and a world class striker that isn't 800 years old.

If De Gea were to leave for RM at the end of the season, it'd set them back again. Not that i'm convinced that move will happen anymore to be honest.

Anyway. Most expensive squad ever assembled in the history of football. 6th.

Yep, they need to replace Carrick, they're obviously after a CB as shown by trying ot sign that Linelof guy (however you spell it). Who knows what's going on with Luke Shaw. Zlatan only has 1 more year left in him. Will be interesting to see what happens if they finish outside the top 4 again

If the offside rule was abolished they'd be top.  ;)

How does that work? If the offside rule was abolished, their Goals For would remain the same but their Goals Against would be higher. If video technology was applied to the offside rule the way it was to the goal line, I dare say they'd be 10th.

Meanwhile, my chosen Sunday paper in Sydney (the only one that isn't right-wing) generally has one European football article per week, and the last two have been all about Mourinho. Remarkable that a sixth-placed team with no realistic prospect of title contention is garnering so much attention. They didn't even fap this hard over Leicester last year. The last article was from the UK Telegraph (I think) and gushed about Mourinho's great sense of humour (apparently he's a real larrikin who puts stuff in players' hair while they sleep! - a budgerigar in Fellaini's nest, perhaps?) and how the players have really bonded under him because he doesn't make them watch videos like Van Gaal did (nah, he just slags them off on national telly!). Real vomit-inducing stuff. I wonder if they'll go for three in a row now that a below-par Liverpool easily snapped their winning streak. It's still an unbeaten streak, though! Greatest club ever! Sixth!

They have played most of the turgid teams during this unbeaten run and haven't won one game with ease as all the wins have been scrappy affairs winning by some dodgy goal, must be depressing to still be in 6th place, they still have City and Chelsea at home and have away trips to Arsenal and Spurs.

They won't finish top 4,they were pretty dull to watch today and then resorted to hoof ball to Zlatan, they are so workman like for a team who cost 600 million.

Pogba also again flatters to deceive.

Actually feels quite apt that he beat the record in a meaningless mid table clash to keep his side 6th

Incidentally, is this a record for how long a team has stayed in 6th place during a season without moving up or down? It must be close.

Everton have gained four points on them in a week. Would he hilarious after this long unbeaten run and all this time stuck in 6th the next time they change places they actually slip to 7th.
