How many others in those £77 seats would you say left also?

Not that many as there are loads of corporates and day trippers around me these days. Some lads who have sat in the same seats for years did leave, there might have been more as I left dead on 77.

Another idiot.

How dare people try and save the future of our club? 2 points lost, 1 very big point made.

Location Minnesota USA

Amazing how many of the gob shites against protest will never "get it"

Just because American Sport is awash with Franchises and profiteering, doesnt mean we will be.

And what if the loss of 2 points in today's match IS significant at the end of the season?

How significant could it be? We're eighth in the league table. Eighth! Are you telling me this might prevent us from finishing 7th? How on earth will we cope?!

To be honest, that shouldn't even matter. Even if we were competing for the league, I'd still support the walk out. This isn't about short term gratification, this is about making sure huge numbers of our support aren't priced out of the game forever.

"If ever a club reflected what made football the biggest sport in the country, it was Liverpool with its ground set in the bosom of the labouring working class being led by a man-of-the-people idealist in Bill Shankly."

they've waited until now because there has been dialogue with the club for 13 months but there have been visual protests with banners in the past few years, add to that there have been ongoing campaigns involving supporters groups from other clubs and the fsf's twenty's plenty campaign for away tickets (which was rejected by the clubs this week) going on as well, there's been the odd token gesture like the money given to clubs for away fans but the money men just aren't listening at a time when even more money is coming into the game

did today's protest have an effect on the result? we've been shite all season so my guess is no, ming should have easily saved that free kick instead he fucked up and put us under pressure, if it did then it proves a point that fans (not customers) should be valued as more than cash cows

Cheers. Many thanks for the information behind it.
Good luck.

personally I think our owners have been good, gave us a lot of cash last few years and currently building an awesome new stand, we have to pay for it somehow, surely increases were inevitable, don't think I'm not annoyed at the rises myself, just saying I understand why it's happened

Prior to starting it they said it wouldn't fall to GA tickets. They said it would be paid for from corporates.

I don't hate FSG, but they have made an arbitrary decision to make an extra £2m off regular matchgoers when it isn't necessary. Inflation last year was 0%, the 2014/15 median weekly wage in Liverpool before tax was c£400 (c£330 take home pay) and the new tv money is looking to be £8bn. They really need to think again.

I think a protest was absolutely essential. I wasn't 100% behind a walkout though.  I thought it affected the team and the result of the match, while at the same time, massive amounts of fans stayed put giving a contradictory message.

Every time I see photos and vines of the protest I get a shiver up my spine!

That was a fucking significant statement made to today

:wellin to the lads and lasses that stood up for what is right today, and exposed the corporate doublespeak for exactly what it is - corporate doublespeak.

I'm experienced enough to recognise why the owners see "ticket income" as simply another income line that also needs an annual increase "target", but I'm well made up that the matchgoing fans have made the point loud and clear that they need to view that line differently - that the "ticket income" line is different from the "sponsor income" and "hot dogs, tea and misc geegaws" line item.

Fucking well done to all of you that had the balls to do what needed to be done - someone has to take a stand and I'm immeasurably proud that it's us, the Liverpool fans that have done it.

YNWA - a proud day!

Some of the comments around (not on here) directed at Ayre are a bit harsh... Doubt he has any more to do with the key decisions than Mighty Red. They just stick him out there to take the heat while the Americans reap the money from overseas. Just a no win position for the guy... & I am not a big fan either transfer wise ect.

Watching on telly this made a huge impression. Atmosphere was very good and the lads and ladies made one hell of a racket when they were leaving. Message should have been received by FSG loud and clear. Shout out to the Sunderland fans for their support as well. Good bunch those Mackems.
