Another year, no. But this year it's biggest competition was Avatar, supposedly.

yeah I suppose, I mean Avatars was a visual masterpiece the story however was lacking. Whereas Hurt Locker was a good story. I just didn't think it did anything new in war movies.

Compared to other movies like Platoon and Apocalypse now it's not even close.

Thought it was alright, though with what i've been taught and read about IEDs either he was up against Iraqs worst bomb makers or he should have been blown to bits about 4 times throughout the film.

Bought it the other day. Going to give it a watch maybe tomorrow.

Just seen Evangeline Lilly's in it. Bonus.
'Nights like the semi-final back in 2005 live long in the memory of anyone who witnessed it, never mind me as an opposition player. That night has always stuck in my head and given me the desire to one day play in a red shirt and help the club return to its former glory days.'

Muted for 12 days for calling Rafa fat.

Finally got around to watching this last night. I liked it. All you really want from a movie is to be transported and this did the job for two hours. Non stop tension, morally sort of neutral and a stand out performance from Renner.

Best film of the year would be pushing it.

I thought it was way overrated.

I got the impression the reasons it won the Oscar was because the people that voted wanted to appear as patriotic or sympathetic to the war machine/madness.

There were much better films made than that.

But the Oscars are a load of baloney anyway.

 ;D

I thought this was a decent film, did what it said on the tin, entertained me for two hours. Nothing special about it though in my opinion, probably enjoyed Generation Kill more although that being a TV show has the advantage of a longer running time.

Finally watched this film tonight. I rated the cinematography very highly. The film had a beautiful feel, and the tension never let go. The screenplay was abut lacking though.
