Does anyone know what the date of any replay would be if city and Utd drew their FA cup tie?

If they draw :lmao

Yes I know highly improbable....but surely the BEST result for us.
City would be going all-out at home to get a result, especially with the clock ticking, and then have to face a reply with the distinct possibility of extra time.

It would be good for us, yeah. I think that if they need to have a replay, then it's usually the week after depending on fixtures but they organise it at the time. I'm sure someone can clear it up for you.

Looking at City's fixture list from the previous page, they'd probably ask for a postponement of their Premier League game on Monday 16th.

After reading some City think that both themselfs and Man United will play their reserves in their FA Cup thrid round I had a look at Man United fixtures.

4th Jan: Newcastle away
7th Jan?: Man City away -FA Cup third round
14th Jan: Bolton home
22nd Jan: Arsenal away
31st Jan: Stoke home

Considering following the FA Cup tie they have a home match against a relatively easy team -that don't have much about them atm and also the fact that they got thrashed 6-1 at home last time they meet, the fans and everybody connected to the club will want revenge -I think Man United will take the tie very seriously and the FA Cup as a whole.

City in January - 7 matches - 4 at home; 3 away:

1st Jan - Sunderland - (a) - Premier League
3rd Jan - Liverpool - (h) - Premier League
8th Jan - Man United - (h) - FA Cup
11th Jan - Liverpool - (h) - Carling Cup
16th Jan - Wigan Athletic - (a) - Premier League  OR POSSIBLE FA CUP 3rd ROUND REPLAY
22nd Jan - Tottenham - (h) - Premier League
25th Jan - Liverpool - (a) Carling Cup

Liverpool in January - 7 matches - 3 at home; 4 away:

3rd Jan - Man City - (a) - Premier League
7th Jan - Southend/Oldham - (h) - FA Cup
11th Jan - Man City - (a) - Carling Cup
14th Jan - Stoke - (h) - Premier League
21st Jan - Bolton - (a) - Premier League
25th Jan - Man City - (h) - Carling Cup
31st Jan - Wolves - (a) - Premier League

Looking at City's fixture list from the previous page, they'd probably ask for a postponement of their Premier League game on Monday 16th against Wigan.

QUESTION - If ManC v ManU ends in a draw and they have to do a replay, and IF they ask for the Wigan game to be postponed due to fixture congestion, do WIGAN have to agree to it, or can the postponment be 'forced' on Wigan.

I ask this because Wigan would  be MAD to agree to it. If the game had to go ahead as planned City would almost certainly be fielding a weaker team and that would give Wigan an opportunity of getting some much need points!

For us, City would have ManU away (maybe with extra time) followed by Spurs at home in the EPL all in the 5 or 6 days before us back at Anfield in the 2nd leg CC semi.

Nobody listened to Kenny last week regarding fixture congestion........PAYBACK TIME!

Why would they ask for the Wigan game to be postponed ?

If the FA Cup game goes to a replay then the replay will be on either 17th/18th/19th Jan. IIRC FA Cup games takes priority over League games. If anything the FA will only let them bring the Wigan game forward to the Saturday/Sunday

What the fuck does guilty and confused mean?

"Our country needs people like myself and Didier Drogba because there is a war and it's important we do what we can for our people, but this is also a crucial time of the season," he said. "There are two crucial months coming up and now I am going to miss one of them. The team, the club and the manager need me, but I will have to go away and play in a different competition.

"It's difficult as I am very focused for City and we need all the players. I have to go because my country is going through some difficult things, but I am a little bit guilty and confused about it. My loyalties are divided and I do feel a little bit sad. But City will cope. We have fantastic players who can take my place, such as Nigel de Jong and Gareth Barry, while Owen Hargreaves is also working very hard to come back."

You can drive buses through that centre midfield if you were so inclined. Spearing as the deepest is trouble; while being our most suited cm in terms of how he sees himself on the pitch, think he's better off ahead of a partner, pressing. When you ask him to anticipate runs behind and mark, he's been found wanting a bit.

I look through our options, and there isn't one fit now to hold that area well. Shelvey, nah. Stevie, nah. Hendo - he's willing to adapt and give his best for the team, still, nah.

Play Carra there. ;D

Off to this. Manchester City end like so we better not get hammered as it will break me having to sit there surrounded by their showerish supporters.

Going the return leg too, would love us to make the final as I'm desperate to get down to Wembley. been too long for us, one of the best things about having kenny back is the emphasis he has put on us winning trophies, probs why the oldham game was basically sold out, you know its a good cup run on the cards with dalglish.

The space in front of the two CBs has to be patrolled and dealt with better than it has been in the absence of Lucas. The only one who truly has the skill-set and cultivated football brain to do it effectively now is Steven Gerrard. Nothing against Spearing whom I've grown to appreciate quite a bit and have gone to extreme lengths to defend but he is really not a full Lucas substitute when it comes to the shielding/defensive side of the most withdrawn central midfielder.

I very much enjoyed Jonjo Shelvey's performance vs Oldham and would not be perplexed if he were to be given another chance vs City, although I very much doubt it. With Gerrard on the pitch, I would go with Henderson along with Spearing 'behind' Stevie in a 3-man midfield.

Unlike many others, I did not see Kuyt as having a bad game vs Oldham. The one thing that Kuyt does well when deployed as a proper striker is that he moves very well and pressurizes/defends from the front extremely well. Carroll will probably get the nod to anchor our attacking three, but it may be too soon after Friday for Bellamy to get another start.

We shall see. The regular back five will probably start again, and by rights they should, although Kelly performed well enough to warrant possible inclusion.

Personally I would go.....

                        Reina
Johnson.     Skrtel.    Agger.      Enrique

                 Spearing. Henderson

                          Gerrard

Bellamy.                                     Downing

                            Carroll

Get Bellamy and downing doing all they can to get balls into the box, Gerrard can do that from deep too, however i think kenny will drop Gerrard and play Adam and also possibly leave Bellamy out the first 11, hope not.

2 months ago I'd have been thinking the same.  I like neither Manchester Club so the better result would be a draw with a Man City win on penalties at Old Trafford after booting the shit out of each other for 210 minutes.

Now, after the Evra shite , I just want every domestic and European competition cleansed of everything Man United.  It's gone beyond hate for me.  Good luck on Sunday.......but Wednesday will be a different matter!
