Enjoyed Woodburn in midfield

Did an excellent job in the Lallana role. He's got such quick feet, see the yellow their player got near the end for evidence.

Job done.

The young players did well.  Gomez was impressive and I thought Ejaria and Alexander-Arnold had really good games.  Woodburn did well, Ojo looked bright off the bench and Wilson had a couple of decent moments too.

Sturridge and Origi were awful though.  Bit disappointed with Stewart's performance as well, I like him as a player but thought he was a bit all over the place tonight, particulatly with his passing.

Onto Wolves in the next round, should be another good challenge for the youngsters.

Woodburn has a classy touch and a good turn. TAA looks an able back up to clyne. Delighted for lucas, great to see coutinho back.

But good god what has happened to the form of our attackers?  :o

Awesome from the kids in the last 20. Killed the game by keeping the ball in a hostile atmosphere. Great from Ejaria, Woodburn, Ojo and Trent

The less said about moreno, sturridge, origi the better.

We looked a far better more balanced side with Wilson and Ojo.   Countinho and Mane light.

Lucas!!!!! Get the f**k in!!

Also, glad Coutinho is back. We are much more likely to score when he takes corners.

There is absolutely no doubt after Sturridge being humiliated by Jurgen tonight that he will be off in the summer,in fact i wouldnt be surprised if he agitated for a move before the end of this window.

We need a striker, not purely because of tonight but you can just see we don't have an out and out goalscorer in the team any more.

Origi needs to develop granted, he has some great raw attributes but you'd hope for our two back up strikers as such to be bagging against Plymouth especially after going 1 up.

Sturridge, I love him but my god his movement is so selfish and lazy. He did make a couple of good runs in behind, but he doesn't show to feet for link up play and when he does his touches mostly are lazy. Few times aswell he could've dragged a defender away to create space for others to exploit.

Other than that I am very impressed with the youngsters we are bringing through and well done Klopp for sticking with them!

That was fucking awful. But a few shining lights. Alexander-Arnold was fantastic tonight. MOTM for me. Really covered well and was there to bail out any of the other backline whenever needed. Ojo and Wilson looked great coming off the bench too.

Decent performance at a tricky place.

Yeah that's the most accurate summary.  People moan about the quality of the match but away at a League 2 side, you don't want a "good game"....just get in, get the result and get out of the place. That's what we did, though being Liverpool we don't make it easy!

Thought Woodburn and Gomez were the best performers, with TAA continuing his progress and Wilson  and Ojo looking good in places. Also thought Divock's pen was one of the worst I have seen for a long time!

Sturridge is too.....shall we say......single minded to ever fit into a Klopp team. I'm starting to wonder if Origi might be heading the same way.

Woodburn looked better centrally than he did wide. He's got bags of talent really. Ojo surprisingly looks the most natural wide player of the younger players. Wilson is another that I have a feeling would look better centrally, though he does look okay out wide as well. I'm pleased we got the result and was very glad to see our younger players.
Quote from: Dion Fanning

The chants for Kenny Dalglish that were heard again on Wednesday do not necessarily mean that the fans see him as the saviour. This is not Newcastle, longing for the return of Kevin Keegan. Simply, Dalglish represents everything Hodgson is not and, in fairness, everything Hodgson could or would not hope to be.

BT comms were desperate for a giant killing and it wasnt forthcoming thankfully. Also foul on Karius but any excuse for them to make it out like he's shaky.. So close to watching games on mute.

Wilson and Ojo looked very good when they came on, great for Wilson to finally make his debut.

Won't be one that lives long in the memory, but we're through :)

Loved the fact Lucas got the goal :)

Funnily enough, were played better when Coutinho & Sturridge were replaced with Wilson & Ojo.

Also, when we got a penalty & Milner wasn't playing, I had a bad feeling. Sure enough, very poor attempt by Origi.
Doesn't matter though, job done :D

Well done lads.

What has happened to Origi?

He's a kid himself going through a patch of bad form, it happens to all strikers. Just needs to score a scrappy goal and he'll get a bit of confidence back.

1-0. We're through.

It wasn't a good performance, but we won. We allowed them too many chances and we didn't create a whole lot. Was disappointed with Origi and Sturridge in particular. Neither stood out against a League 2 side. And we knew exactly how they would play. That's really not good enough. They didn't improve their chances to get to start this weekend.

Liked what I saw from Ojo. He did what I wanted to see more of. He went one on one with his opponent and gave it a go. We knew from the first game that we couldn't pass it into the net. We needed what he offered and others should have tried it before Ojo.
I also liked what I saw from Woodburn once Coutinho went off. He took up a more active role, which was good to see. Finally, nice for Lucas to score again!
