In the middle of his autobiography at the moment and as much as I've enjoyed it I've been feeling a twinge of sadness that he hasn't been properly involved for so long. This has absolutely made my year so far and instead of feeling that sadness I'm gonna be feeling so excited that he's back.

That said, I'm not expecting miracles, but the unification that he'll bring to everyone is massive. Even if we get hammered tomorrow, I fully expect the fans to be fully behind the manager and DALGLISH!! will be sung loud and proud, regardless of the score.

How do i feel? Happy to fuck that that barn Owl has gone. Had to be Kenny for the interim, no two ways about it.

The way it stood, we were going to lose at Utd, poss Blackpool and prob Everton. Now, now we still could lose, but I have more faith in the team. We'll see.
We may sign Salah, but I'll show my arse in the middle of town if we sign one of VVD or Keita. Not gonna happen.

20 years in the making. Remember the day he left like it was yesterday. Tears in my eyes reading ceefax, calling my dad in the office to give him the news.

Whether it works or not one thing is for sure: we can approach games without thinking which result will lead to Roy getting sacked/staying on. United now till the end of the season. Whatever happens.

Chuffed to bits here....

really am...

im going to stay grounded though all i ask is we play better football with more pride and passion.

A win against united would be a great start please, but all i ask for is stability and to kick on this season and get as high as possible.

Thank you kenny, for stepping into this and putting alot on the line.

Amen.
I trust the King, but if we lose a few more on the trot now - he may have to step aside, and we have to purchase another manager in the middle of the season. If we are relegated, this could be the end of our ambitions to win any title the next 100 years.

Ecstatic he is back.

Think we will get a top half of the table finish now.

Hopefully he will get the chance to bring in a few quality players in January.

I will make my opinion on whether I believe he would be the right long term manager for us at the end of the season.

The King returns and our next two games are v the mancs and everton.

You couldn't have scripted it.

Don't care if we lose tomorrow, I really don't.

It's too sudden for Kenny to get enough of his own ideas in, but finally some optimism in an otherwise bleak season.

Thank you NESV although he should have gotten the job when he put himself forward.

By the way watch out for major backtracking from the rent a quote ex Red crowd, many of whom were saying he shouldn't be appointed
when it was discussed in summer.

Jealous of the travelling Kop tomorrow.

COME ON YOU REDS!!!!
It's true to say that if Shankly had told us to invade Poland we'd be queuing up 10 deep all the way from Anfield to the Pier Head.

He has been shit at his last two jobs, out of the game for yonks and where he was successful was either inheriting a great side or had the funds to buy one. I never saw him as a particularly good manager and this appointment smacks of sentiment and an attempt to appease the fans. We could seriously get relegated if we ar not careful.

excited and something else at the same time, i would say worried but thats not quite the right word for it.  I now wonder what will happen in the transfer market, what the owners will choose to do should Kenny do a fantastic job up until the end of the season.

Im only 21 so ive never had the fortune of seeing a Kenny managed team in action properly. To some of the fans who have, what kind of tactics can we expect to see (basing it from older kenny sides obviously) ? I wasnt a fan of us playing in a 4-4-2, do you think this will continue or we will maybe move back to the 4-2-3-1 or a 4-3-3. Obviously no-one knows for sure but im interested to see what some expect to see.

When's the first press conference? I cannae fuckin wait for it!

There won't be one until Monday now I'd imagine. Too close to the game.

Had Kenny been back in the country last week I'm now convinced this would have happened on Thursday instead, with a presser yesterday.
I trust the King, but if we lose a few more on the trot now - he may have to step aside, and we have to purchase another manager in the middle of the season. If we are relegated, this could be the end of our ambitions to win any title the next 100 years.

Part of me is glad Kenny is back and just the status of the Man is bound to give the entire club a lift.
BUT he has been out the game a long time and things have changed a lot since he last managed.

I'm still of the opinion that NO manager would have turned things around this season, given the squad and the state of the club at the start of the season. I never thought Roy was the right man for the Liverpool job but at the same time I don't put all the blame on him for this season, I actually think he's been given far too hard a time by fans.

Lets not forget Rafa was playing extremely negative football by the end of last season, and my only real critisism of Roy is that he continued the same negative football. At least with Kenny, I expect to see us play far more adventurous and attacking football.

The question is, will the board give him any money to spend, considering he's only in until the end of the season? Because if Kenny is not allowed to bring in any new players then we're still going to struggle, because we have far to many players that are simply not good enough (Konchesky, Skrtel, Babel, Ngog, etc) as well as those not in form (Johnson, Cole, Meireles, Maxi, etc).

Interesting times ahead!
Regards
Kev

Emotional.

Kenny was my boyhood hero, I remember hearing the news that he had stepped down and it was one of the saddest days I can remember.

Today, well it feels like dudek has just saved the penalty in Istanbul, it's that good a feeling. It going to take some time to sink in.
