People keep posting this. I can only assume it's some sort of friendly joke as I really don't see anything special about that speech. Seems like a pretty standard thing to say.

I think it's about how he says it rather than what he says. Imagine if he had a high-pitched squeaky voice.

One of the journalists yesterday mentioned that. It should be remembered a number of teams will be searching for new managers. So, it makes sense they will want it done and then we can prepare for the pre-season.

Given that Voetbal International claim Feyenoord have expressed surprise with the speed we're moving, I'd assume another club must have had made Slot an offer. I noticed Rangnick has come out today and said Bayern have had talks with him this past weekend which makes me think Bayern might be that club (as opposed to Barcelona or Milan)

That was yesterday, however, and a lot can happen to a Liverpool player in 24 hours.

4 European Cups is underwhelming :lmao

Maybe they were won by pace goals?

You're like the other lad, I'm not comparing them, I'm asking what his 'inexperience' is, yet to see a decent answer.

He’s inexperienced in managing a top level club such as ours. The context and difference between the two situations is Klopp had years of experience of managing a similar sized club at the time he came in hence there were no doubts he would be able to handle managing us.

Slot to us is like going from Ajax to Man Utd. Let’s just be real.

We HOPE he can become a good manager for us.

Personally I think this is very good appointment given that a) we'd rather not be changing our manager anyway and b) considering the realistic options available to us are all relatively young and inexperienced. He's young and hungry, favours aggressive attacking football, develops young players and seems very personable and charismatic. His current club have often been a bit of a basket case and he's coped with the emotion of the supporters well by all accounts, which will be very helpful when he gets to Liverpool and checks out RAWK. He's also clearly well regarded throughout Europe with plenty of other top clubs monitoring him, including Bayern and Barca if reports are to be believed.

If it does go ahead, I'm excited to see how he gets on next season.

But this season isn't done, so we should be focussing on the blue shite. Up the reds.

It's really not.

Ancelotti whilst obviously a good coach/manager has had a pretty underwhelming managerial career when considering who he's managed, particularly domestically. He basically gets teams performing at around their natural level, which is ok for the likes of Real Madrid and AC Milan as that level is/was at the top. The Ancelotti we'd get is likely to be more akin to the Ancelotti Napoli had - hovering around 70-80 points every season whilst not really winning anything.

He was at AC Milan for 8 years and only won one league title. This despite them having an incredible team for the vast majority of that stint in charge. Prior to this he also had two seasons at Juventus and won nothing.

At Real Madrid, he's had 4 seasons in charge and only won 1 title (albeit soon to be 2 in 5).

Won titles for PSG, Chelsea and Bayern but 1) who couldn't and 2) he was sacked by all 3. Bayern in particular don't think too fondly of him.

Won fuck all at Everton which is quite frankly embarrassing given how big they are.

Given me some unknown/unproven excitement over what would in effect be a safe pair of hands any day.
4 European Cups is underwhelming :lmao

Whatever anyone thinks of our appointment, downplaying Ancelotti as a manager is probably the funniest thing I've seen in this thread. I mean, Christ ...

Winning 2 titles in Germany and getting to a CL final is better than winning 1 Dutch league and getting to the UEFA conference final though .

Swings and roundabouts though, you manage where you manage, do well, move on to better things. No-one is comparing him to Klopp, but he's not inexperienced in winning a title in whatever league he's managed in.
