the 4th season is boss...best one yet imo...hopefully It'll get the nod for a 5th
They have life in them, they have humour, they're arrogant, they're cocky and they're proud. And that's what I want my team to be.

Joanie has grown on me quite abit. Quite like her character.

The humour between Al, his lackeys and EB is top notch.

Why did the actor who played Mr W play two parts in this? Up to episode 9 s2.

The only person to play more than one role was Garret Dillahunt, he played both Jack McCall and Francis Wolcott.  Him and Milch became good friends so Milch found another part for him after the McCall character ran its course.  He initially auditioned for the part of Bullock, and then when he returned to the show he was initially penciled in to play Hearst, originally Hearst was supposed to be older than Dillahunt but younger than Gerald McRaney (who eventually played Hearst).  Milch decided against it as he wanted Hearst to be more of a figurehead and that it would be better if he didn't appear for a while, so gave the Wolcott role to Dillahunt.

Both tiny roles, Shaughnessy was a funny little character, up himself with nothing to back it up, the confrontation with Langrishe was his best part IMHO.

Tim Driscoll was a thug who got his throat cut by Al, which he deserved for the shocking Irish accent.

He never really gets there, not enough to him. As previous posters have said, whilst other characters grow with the show and manage to flesh out other facets of their being, he stays pretty one dimensional and googly eyed. He stays very much reactive rather than proactive in pushing the story forward (although all that's obviously in the writing rather than Olyphant's performance).

Swedgin is the main draw! A whole new heading to talking (to) heads! :wave

Oh and as you have said, it's a joy to watch EB literally stumble around in the filth always looking up lol ;D

He's in training to be Raylan. ;D

Wasn't just his fault, ultimately HBO were the ones that pulled the plug.  They offered Milch six more episodes, but by then he had his head in another project.  There was going to be two, two hour movies but they fell by the wayside.
