Was fully expecting to hear that he was OK after being taken into hospital yesterday.  Very underrated defender for sure and a humble gentleman too. That merson clip above made me well up a bit I must say.
RIP Ugo. Thoughts are with your family

Started out at Senrab as a kid, like those other huge defensive talents Sol Campbell, Ledley King and John Terry, all of them going on to represent the senior England side. Ehiogu nearly made that pretty-damn-strong Euro 96 squad too, if I recall correctly.

RIP Ugo. He and the Villa defence had a great 95/96 season, had 3rd(tied with Man Utd) best goals against in the Premier League. Only bettered by Arsenal and us.

If he was playing now hed be starting for England every time, a top athlete, he had the lot as a defender.
Its sad seeing that Merson interview. Also the fact that I grew up watching him and he wasnt before my time, it hits harder.

Sad news I always felt Ehoigu should have got more recognition at International level and rated him ahead of Barry & Southgate who he played with at Villa.

Tragic news. Always thought he was a very good defender, had all the attributes needed.

Life is so short, can end in an instant no matter how fit and healthy you stay.

Shocked at this news, can't imagine how his family are feeling.

I remember when he was one of the Middlesbrough team which always seemed to get a result against us.

Sad to see a young man to go so early.

Really saddened to hear about this this morning. That poor family. Fine player and fine fella by all accounts. Never knew he ran a record label either. Very sad day for Spurs too. Thoughts with all who knew him.

Excellent defender, would have had 70/80 odd caps if he had played a generation later.

Yeah, make the best of every moment boys, the running seconds, those are your diamonds. Arrange  every single aspect - people, job, neighbourhood - to have you expressing yourself at your very best at all times. Anything else you fail yourself.
