Yeah, really enjoying this at the mo. Last couple of eps have been great.
The only bum note was that horribly smug christian song at the end of last week's Eccleston episode. Not sure where they were going with that.
the whole concept of the rebooted second season is faith (if not necessarily religion), so to have an overtly christian final theme to a classically christian story is not at all unusual, and far from a bum note IMO - it's called a
theme for a reason
. and every episode begins with the thoroughly agnostic song, after all (i was initially very uncertain about how that song fit tonally, but it couldn't be more perfect now).
another excellent episode. i'd go so far as to say this is the best thing on TV at the moment. every episode is thought-provoking, even if questions aren't always answered (although at least two of the oddball early moments were explained in the last episode - still no explanation for the nude running girls though).
and a s&g song to end the episode! another crossover with detectorists
