Aren't Jordon, Raheem and Daniel good mates? I always see pictures/videos of them together. I'm worried selling Sterling might unsettle the other two.

This!

fantastic new about Ibe signing on.

What i dont understand is why Rodgers gets so much stick from people. He has done a really really good job of bringing through young players... such as Ibe, and coutinho, and sterling..... he has taken a team without a striker to finish 5th (team below us has a 20 goal striker in kane), and managed to get 'unmanageable' players like Suarez focused where we almost grabbed an unexpected title last year.

we are rebuilding from the ground up and in 1-2 seasons i have no doubt at all we will consistently be a top 4 side, with these young guys such as Ibe being right amongst it.

If we get just that bit of patience for Rodgers and his young talents (Ibe, Markovic, Coutinho, Sinclair, Sterling etc....) we will be a bloody good team with a solid football identity that can actually be sustainable over many many years.
Who will we kick out of the top 4 to accommodate us?

Well I highly doubt they'll all move to another club together so they'll just have to get on with it.

It'll be fine.  Tuesdays can be date night (as long as there isn't a game).  Long distance relationships can work.

I'm not saying they're inseparable and they'll all move to the same club together. But if
one of your favourite teammates leaves the club. Wouldn't you also consider moving elsewhere?

No.

That's football, team-mates come and go.  If they can't handle that and want to work with their mates then they're in the wrong profession.

I think it does work like that to an extent. I'm a big believer in once you have a contingent of players from a nation or similar culture, then you want to add to that not take away from it, in order to keep those players happy personally as well as on the pitch. With Sterling, Sturridge, Ibe we have a strong (right I'm gonna try to be pc but I'm not sure what the pc term is afro-carribean-english?) anyway, yeah, you get what I mean. They have similar cultural heritage, background, lifestyles, music tastes etc etc. I think you want to build on that as much as possible. The same goes for our latin american contingent as well. Now Suarez has gone, and with the possibility of Lucas going as well, with Enrique and Suso already out the door as well, I do worry about keeping Coutinho happy. He's our best player and you want to make him happy in all aspects of his life. I'm not saying keep these players on contracts just so Coutinho can have some mates, but I would definitely be looking at this when acquiring new players and looking to buy. A couple of Brazilians wouldn't go a miss for me.

Some will call it over pampering of a professional who is getting paid millions a year, but its a basic human need to have friends, companionship, no matter how much money you have. Its something the club definitely to look at when signing new players, considering the current group, who do we want to play for the club for a long time etc etc.

This is why Rafas era made a lot of sense. He signing a hell of a lot of Spanish players right before Spains boom, and we got a great contingent of lads, who for a time were very settled and enjoyed there time together in Liverpool. For me this is probably one of the reasons I would love us to get Klopp, just because you know he would be looking at the Bundesliga, bringing in a strong core base of German players. We've never had that at Liverpool but it's something I'd love to see. German Liverpool, Ruthless as fuck.

They are but it will be fine. Jordon signing a new deal and if anyone in our team knows about how the grass isn't always greener at a rich 'sugar daddy' club its Sturridge. If anything Sterling would do well to listen to Sturridge on the matter

I read in the Liverpool FC mag last season that Jordon had some Jamaican heritage? Not sure on which side, though.

Ibe will be more likely to see Sterling potentially leaving as him as a good thing for his own career, if anything, I would have thought. When it comes to your job, you very much think of yourself, I think. He just signed a new deal, after all.

Agree on Flanagan that it's good news. IMO we can be a bit 'nice' in this case, and on paper it might not be the best deal for Liverpool. But probably with low wages and hopefully he comes back to play for us regularly and in that case he has all the chances in the world to claim a first team spot again. And we need someone like him in the team then.

I'm very happy about both contract extensions. Ibe for obvious reasons and Flanagan because he is a brilliant squad player. It's important to have a local lad in the team and hopefully on the pitch! Plus it saves us £10M for a possible replacement from wherever.

I wouldn't say its logical given he's likely to be out for a long while, but there is certainly an argument to give him one.

I think Flanno's contract will reflect that he was been out for a while and might not get back to the player we was.

I think his current wage is below the Premiership average (£35k or something I believe) and we have an international full back (albeit just the 1 cap) on our hands. I think of all the wages that get wasted to me anyway it seems like a year of investment that seems sensible and doesn't on the face of it appear to be pissing money up the wall.

But the Club doesn't have to be loyal to a player that's been here all his career?
