Scored a couple of good free kicks for City too I think. Possibly when he was playing up front when they had loads of injuries.

Very good signing, as long as we follow it up with several more in the same mould. Brings experience, versatility, commitment and mental strength. He was one of City's very best players last season and that was often from the bench. He's matured a lot since joining them.

Glad it's happened - wish we'd got him 5 years earlier but I wouldn't be surprised to see him contending for the captain's armband next season. Should give our midfield some much, much needed dynamism.

Apart from Fowler and (soon) Milner, I wonder if there's anyone else who played for us, City and Leeds? I wonder if there's a site where you can put in the names of multiple clubs and it gives you a list of players who played for all of them, if there are any?

No ones gonna have the never say die attitude that Suarez had for example. I think that was quite unique.

But Milner is cut from that cloth.

Very determined and steely bloke.

We need more like this in the team.

We folded and went into our shells all too often this past season.

Very happy with that signing. He has a lot to offer and will be a machine in midfield. I remember how he and Silva changed the game a year ago in the title run-in. He was very impressive.

Considering Lucas injury history, Emre Can might actually start in his defensive midfield role.

Praying to god Rodgers doesn't play him in a two man midfield with Henderson though, also hoping he isn't the only addition to the midfield because we still need someone better/to compete Lucas in the defensive midfielder role. Mainly because Henderson, Allen and Milner don't have a defensive bone in their body when it comes to quality protection. And Lucas is injury prone as well.

Regardless of the fact we need strikers, our defence still isn't good enough and still hasn't been sorted from last season when it was the only thing that caused us not winning the title. For me that is because our midfield easily gets cut through

The point is that despite what I think i'm backing him. I can see many slagging off from day 1
