Can't see us keeping a clean sheet. That coupled with our attacking threat dropping off lately means I'm going for 1-1.

Very dodgy game if you ask me. We're in a worryingly bad patch of form. Obviously Coutinho out is massive but I also think playing Firmino on the left is killing us and killing him too. Not half as effective out there. It's changed the whole structure of the side.

For some reason Moreno is public enemy here. I believe there is a very good player there. He is no way as bad as people here make out. Him bombing up is due to klopp. Only things he does wrongly is over enthusiastic while tackling especially inside the box. Doesn't make a wise decision. That will come only with expereince.

I hope he starts today
Moreno has some attributes of a very good player but he will never be one IMO. What he lacks is a footballing brain. Not that he can't play football, it's just that he consistently makes rash/bad decisions.

He is totally unreliable and there's plenty of evidence to prove this. Milner may not be solution but Moreno certainly isn't. There's a reason a midfielder is playing at left back instead of him.

Hoping for a win, can't let Chelsea run away. Karius wil play but I'd rather see Mignolet between the sticks again.

Come on Karius lad.  Clean sheet and a good display please you big handsome German bugger.

The ugly brothers seem to think he should do his talking on the filed. So do just that and stick two fingers up at the pair of pricks.

Heading up to Boro in a few hours and am nervous but also really curious to see how our lads react following 2 poor results and another media shit-storm.  Lets see if we've got the minerals for a Top 4 (Title) challenge.

Come on Reds!!!

Last two results have been poor.

But we have played well enough to win for the majority of the games. Just have been punished for mistakes which is a bit unlucky but that's what happens sometimes...

Fully expect a more controlled performance today. Don't think we'll come out all guns blazing even if that is what we probably should do

I can see us sneaking a 1-0 here.

Time of the year where only this matters IMO. Especially with our injuries.

Just get back to getting points on the board, in 3's, Redmen.

Do think we need to buy a pacy winger to freshen things up for the run in.

I am hoping Ojo will be on the bench. Our lack of attacking players has been clear the last two games, and it stopped Klopp from changing things around.

Never watched the Reds (or luminous yellows?) at a night game so looking forward to it.

After Arsenal lost we can get back up there tonight! Come on lads.

He played 90 for the U23's didn't he? I'd love to see him on the bench too but during his rehabilitation I'm thinking it won't be until the derby. Wouldn't mind being proved wrong though.

He could, and has, more often.

Worse than being caught out of position on several occasions, allowing crosses to come in and concede a penalty all in one game.?? Not so sure. Yes- he has been poor but not sure that Moreno could have done worse than that. Moreover- I am not suggesting or calling that he replaces Milner. All I am doing is pointing out the hypocrisy of the fans and calling out their agenda or what the media feeds them. Karius would probably have had a free ride had Moreno played and made those same mistakes. He would have been the scapegoat. Media and fans always looking for a scapegoat.

I'm not sure why Klavan was/is overlooked for Lucas when Lovren/Matip were out and, if there is any doubts about Lovren, why he shouldn't get a go tonight. Seems to have a level head on him, which we need more than anything right now at the back.

Please win. Please just win. And come on Moyesiah!
Quote from: Dion Fanning

The chants for Kenny Dalglish that were heard again on Wednesday do not necessarily mean that the fans see him as the saviour. This is not Newcastle, longing for the return of Kevin Keegan. Simply, Dalglish represents everything Hodgson is not and, in fairness, everything Hodgson could or would not hope to be.

You are right-it won't as it is how the team is set up. Individual errors and not system is what is killing us. However, as much as I like and prefer Milner at LB, he hasn't covered himself in glory over the last few games. Moreno could not have done any worse. Basically, those similar mistakes Moreno did early on has been replicated by Milner. Not having a go at either player as that is football. Merely pointing out the different reactions of the fan base. One gets lambasted and the other given a free ride.
How quickly do things turn? Arsenal slipping ( and play Man City this week end) and Chelsea will too. Up to us to take charge and stay in the hunt. Still a long season ahead.Do think we need to buy a pacy winger to freshen things up for the run in.
On a flight tonight so will be missing the game. 3 points would be terrific.

You cant see the reason for that?

Millner had a poor game, Moreno does that almost every game, key difference.

Thats actually ridiculous :lmao
If he's being asked to head the ball too frequently - which isn't exactly his specialty - it could affect his ear and cause an infection. Especially if the ball hits him on the ear directly.

Feel Firmino is not best suited to playing from out wide. Maybe a 4-4-2 diamond would be better while Coutinho is out, with Firmino behind Mane and Origi?

Seems weird waiting for a Wednesday night away League game, come on you mighty reds. The press will start to doubt us if we fuck up again, the pundits will be smugly chuffed, so let's give them no reason too.

Keep it tight, do nothing silly at the back and we are more than capable of scoring a couple against these.

Knowing us, nothing is simple, so probably go 2 up let a daft one in and see out a nerve shredding final few minutes to win 2-1.

Deffo take that though! To be level on points tonight with Arsenal in 2nd place will be a brilliant achievement overall, forget the last couple of results, can't win them all.

Could Moreno do a job on the wing?

Just putting it out there. He was originally a winger wasn't he, converted to a full back. Gareth Bale, full back converted to winger. It happens .... who'd have thought Lallana could excel in midfield.

Chelsea struggled to beat them. They've been very good this season. And apparently it's a bogey ground too. If we can't beat West Ham at home or Bournemouth away...?

Don't expect too much. I hope there won't be a meltdown if we lose this.

At least Arsenal and City are wobbling. Maybe it's wobble time? Chelsea won't find it easy against Sunderland's 8-1-1 formation.

They are deadly dull to watch, although effective in their aim - namely not being easy to break down.

They sit back, even at home, and play on the counter. We are going to have watch the long ball from back to front.
