Karius is the scapegoat; Yes he is shit and he was at fault but I am looking at the rest of the team.

The only one who has stood out is Lallana. Origi, Mane and Firmino have been anonymous. Our midfield weak as piss and the less said about the defence the better.

We have a weak mentality within the squad and it reeks.

No pride whatsoever.

I think the team is playing fine except for Karius who should have at least kept one out of goal.
For me Matip didnt make a mistake, it was just an unlucky deflection.

I hope we can turn it around in the second half, I see us scoring but we can easily concede more goals as well.

We'll win.

Blaming Karius is the lazy option. Second goal was Matip's fault.

Alot of people to blame, Karius is one.

Think West Ham will hold on here, we've dropped our performance since our goal.

Was expecting us to batter them after going in front, it hasn't been the case though.

We don't turn this turn around and the title is pretty much over for us, 45 minutes to keep our chances alive.

No point in banging me head against a wall questioning the defending and the goalkeeper.

BUT

How on earth is that not a penalty? In what planet isn't it a foul? I don't even know how there's an option to not give it?

Please please get Frimino at the 9 and Origi on the left.

Neither are in the game and both would do better at the others position

Fucking powderpuff defending, the keeper is soft as shite was saying it before the free kick he was leaving far to big a gap then fails to come on the second.

Taking the foot off the gas as per usual.

He can't be blamed for the 2nd. That one is all on Matip. But I agree, the positioning for the free kick, and the limp wristed attempt to save it was laughable

He's jittery but it goes deeper than that.

Needing to score 3 goals to win each game isn't sustainable.

Klopp needs to have a plan b when the running game isn't working.

If you take the game to Liverpool you will invariably have success

Played decent, let the other team into it too easily. Gotto say Matip is just sheer class (mistake aside).

I said last week and I'll say it again this week. The Karius experiment has to be stopped. He is just plain awful. I've seen people bring the example of De Gea into the debate, and it's not congruent with out situation. De Gea still pulled out a couple of great saves along with his clangers. Karius has done no such thing. And claims that the 'save' against Bournemouth are in that cetagory are reaching. I'm talking about the one where the player went through, lost his head and just hit the keeper. You can give him credit for being quick off his line I guess, but the rest was sheer fortune and erratic finishing. Luck that deserted him for West Ham's second tonight.

The main problem I have with him are not seeing one truly 'good' save from him. His positioning for the free kick was horrendous, his 'punch', almost into his own goal against Bournemouth was comical and his punch out tonight was all just wrong. Positioning and punching wide or out are fundamentals of goalkeeper coaching. But the thing that pisses me off the most is the fans berating, laughing, mocking and calling Mignolet all sorts in the cup game. This has become a battle now of principle, where if we leave Karius long enough he'll show why we bought him. He's cosing us points and matches currently. He weakens the team and doesn't deserve his place. Whatever Mignolet's faults or previous indiscretions are, he deserves the goalkeeper jersey more and he is just better. Karius is showing no signs of even being able to operate at this level.

Good to see Firmino getting more involved though. Really feel he should use his strength and size better in the air when in the box. He's basically built to arrive late, bounce defenders out the way, and nod in - but I don't see that desire.

Lovren and Matip have one lazy ball watching incident each, one leading to a goal. And towards the end we really seemed to have lost our attacking impetus. Just tailed off. Mane needs to start producing again, and Wijnaldum needs to have a few pot shots, he has excellent technique. And Origi is excellent at holding up play yet we're not really playing into him. It's a bit disjointed like we haven't got one over arching plan. It's just like go out there and score any which way. Which is fun and creative but when wehave lulls we do need that Plan A or point of attack to play to.

Thought that was a penalty on Lallana as well. And boo's at half time??

Karius is truly awful.

Looks like a rabbit caught in the headlights. Making Mignolet look like Lev Yashin at the mo.

To be fair, West Ham have played us very well this half. Who will tire first is the big question second half.

why are we dropping off again after taking a lead? this time it's even only by one goal so early on :butt :butt

the most unfortunate thing is, not sure what we can bring on from the bench to turn around such a situation apparently.... luckily we have klopp, intrigued to see what he'll do to lift the players up and get us the 3 pts

Such a naive team

Its a skill in itself finding a Gk worse than Mignolet one we seem to have passed with flying colours. Karius is horrific.

45 mins left this is winnable let see what the team is made of.

If we carry on playing our game, we have a good chance of winning this. But Karius has to be dropped

and if we carry on playing like we are we've a good chance of slipping out of the top 4. Just too fragile from midfield to keeper and back to conceding really soft goals allowing teams back into games where they otherwise dont have a sniff.

We'll win.

Blaming Karius is the lazy option. Second goal was Matip's fault.

So indecisive from him though. Also Clyne shouldn't have stalled - he should have kept running past Karius anticipating the ball going past him

This will probably get drowned in ten pages of bedwetting by the time I post it, but it's half fucking time, we're only losing by one goal, we've shown some promise, their goals have been fairly lucky and Klopp will eviscerate the players in the dressing room.

Sorry, but you put in a half-decenet keeper in there and we go in at halftime 1-0 up, at worst 1-1 with every opportunity to win the game in the second half.

We have a team capable of competing held back by a keeper that's (as of yet) nowhere near good enough. Are we really going to keep dropping points just to bed him in?

Dominate possession, score goal, drop intensity, allow average team possession, concede set piece, questionable keeping, concede, rinse repeat. Seems we have learned little from last week up to this point. I think we can turn this around but needs a change in attitude and application.

First goal was bs, the ball goes over the tiny part of the wall filled by West Ham players and had Karius not got a (loud) hand on it then it probably wouldn't have looked too bad. The second goal however, Matip and Karius lost their heads there.

Our defence just have no confidence. Jelly legs. They need some protection I reckon, it's not just going to fix overnight. Shame that adding a proper CDM in front of them will make us totally change the way our midfield works.

On another note, Origi just isn't quite on the same wavelength as the rest of the attack, and Firmino's wasted on the left.
