Looks familiar...Lusitania at Riverside station which was set in Princes dock.
Also posting a link to a site which has an 8 page gallery on the Lusitania for those who might be interested.

i had a feeling the pic was of the landing stage, but needed to make sure it was, even tho the site says it is.
when i was looking at it, all i saw was the height of station, and it seemed to have more of an incline than the other pics. to me, it looks higher up compared to the others rather closer to than quay level... what has confirmed it for me, is the pair of chimneys at the right hand side

It was magnificent and majestic then, and it still is now.
But I get your point about the visual clutter as well.
It's the same with the Liverpool skyline for me now.
I might get battered for this, but I hate the new excuses for buildings that are popping up left, right and centre there right now.

Agree entirely.   I walk along from Liverpool One, to work in the Cunard buildings every day, and it really gets on my nerves how much a once amazing sight has been ruined hi-tech fuckin flats.

that's well spotted hatton garden off dale st.

i'm up to 220 pics for the first part. i can't find anymore pre war pics. i may as well do a dummy run and see if youtube will automatically create two parts of part one. i doubt it. if it doesnt work, i wouldn't lose much time.  next job is to copy my folder and resize all the pics from 1024 or whatever to 640x480.. should take an hour, then another hour fiddling...

i think youtube will automatically resize them down so i'll give that a miss. finding music is the tricky bit. 220 times 5 seconds is nearly 18 and a half mins long. 'think i can manage something

i got some of them.. i saw the morris dancers around the policeman yesterday or sunday funnily enough.
this isn't as easy as i thought. its 4 seconds per pic not 5 as i thought which brings it down to 15mins and 15secs.  i had a look at music coinciding with it. originally i was going to splice a 15mins 23sec track and put it in two halves.. then i looked at another option of finding something 10mins and 5 mins - tried it out and gone back to the original plan...ho hum. it would be nice to have it all in one go.

i'll put the ones i haven't got in my album anyway. you never know, may eventually come up with two ten minute clips  :P  it won't take long to change the music

something odd is going on here.. in my music folder, the music i wanted to use is 15mins 17 seconds - ideal, cannot fault that... but, when i bring it into movie maker, it has become 12mins 51 seconds... omg what is going on?

hmm, the only thing i can think of is that when i ripped into into the laptop a few years ago, it was a wav file that became a wma file....and it was converted at a lower bit rate. bollox lol... the only thing i can think of is...either i rip a new one in. or change the music altogether... think i'll do the former

second thoughts, a change of plan... out of curiosity, i tried something out. it was the bit rate that changed it. looks like i can can change the music altogether.. and what took mre an hour earlier. took me 2 minutes to redo.. :-\ feel like a clot now. i can impoet as many pics as i like in one go.. dear me

I think it's Lime Street as in here to the right..

The Schweppes sign has changed but you can still see the curve of the building.
Those Lights not required signs I remember were for the tunnel .

Quick edit, you can just make out the sign on your pic just below and behind the Cathedral sign on this one.

hammer and chisel i'd like now  :P

i find it impossible that a computer can change the size of a track length, doesn't matter what bitrate it is - what could be going on is one prgramme such as music editor is showing different times and adding confusion... start again lol.  or in other words, leave it until the morning.

i thought i said 5 seconds for each transition in the beginning, then it became 4. i timed it with the stopwatch just now and it does seem 5 secs after all

SB, on second thoughts and closer examination (and before Tsar corrects me :)), the Lights not required sign was actually for the car parking spaces, not the tunnel.
I think I was getting confused late last night, I know there was some signposts on lights restriction in the tunnel back then but it was probably saying sidelights only.
But back then it was the law that when parked on main roads and possibly most side roads, you had to have a parking light displayed, red to the rear, white to the front and I now think that's what that particular sign was actually for.
My dad had one of those lights that clamped on the top of the driver side window and plugged into the fag lighter or a power socket in the car. I've still got it in a box somewhere, a relic of the 50's.

time for some more experimenting.  i looked at one piece of music and it says in my laptop 10:16secs. even my stopwatch says 10:16.  right click and look in properties it says 10:16 ... so, the realtime of the track is 10:16

the baffling bit is, when i put it into movie maker, it is actually 10:16, the file says so....but, the timescale says 8min:33secs - why? if a film is 25 frames a second, it must be converting something somewhere.. even though the whole track is intact, there's something about this timescale lark... if you tube vids are 10 mins maximum, i wonder if thats in realtime or virtual time?  only way to find out is by trying to upload the 10:16

anyway, while messing about, i can change the length of picture transitions after all tsk. why it is in where it is, i don't know. they should have it in the main part not hidden away...

12 seconds in real time = 10 seconds in movie maker.. so, ten seconds in the movie maker is 12 seconds of my time...baffling or what? 1 second of their time is 1.2 secs of my time... ah, 220 times 1.2 seconds times 5seconds transition = 1320 ..in theory, that is exactly 22mins. bugga, two films @ 10mins is over the limit, 3 times 7.. to do it right, i have to find 22mins exactly and spiit it up to 8 mins plus 7 plus 7 etc..
or the other complicated way is find music 24 mins long, split it up 3 ways and adjust the transitions to suit the length. hmmm

tsar kastik - the pics you got up in #610 etc are good. i have an use for them, but there is just one problemo ... have you got a watermark on them? i can save them ok but i cannot reopen them after i saved them to 'resize' them. by the time i get them, they are 443kb, 662kb, 657kb and all that

eg Castle St. nd.jpg (93.24 kB, 767x490 - viewed 5 times.) after i download and save, its 443kb

hmm i'm finding this impossible to do now because of this time lapse thing.  i'll have to look into this and find out the reason why it does it. all i can think of is 25 frames a second.  it does it in all music files.  4mins 48 secs becomes 4 mins... and i can't see a way out of it.

the logical thing to do is - increase the transition from 5 secs to 6 secs and delete 7 pics from the 1st half and 9 pics from the 2nd ... or keep it at 5 seconds and find 13 new pics for the 1st half and 11 for the 2nd half.  finding 24 new pics is a task and a half.  found 6 so far for the first half plus tsars pics

i got it sorted now. what was happening earlier on, when i clicked on the pics, they turned into red X's . and the only way to download them was by saving them by clicking on the attachment symbol. when it downloaded, it wouldnt open in psp.

now its working again, i can save them and open them in pspr ... it just wouldn't open up in psp after i downloaded.

i use windows manager for the occasional crop.  on mine, i don't find it compresses. the only reason i got psp is that it compresses pics with no loss or very minmal loss
