Has everyone tried Vote Match and Vote for Policies yet?

Green 70%, Lib Dem 30%

About right I'd say.

Where is this £3,000 of extra tax coming from? Have the Tories or Labour detailed where it is coming from?

Or is it a "YOU'RE GONNA HAVE £3,000 TAKEN AWAY AND HAVE IT GIVEN TO SCUM OF THE EARTH WHO DON'T DESERVE IT" type scaremongering?

I think it's important for Labour to go right over the top when the Torys make outrageous accusations as people do get scared even if it is a load of crap, this election will be decided in the last few weeks on voters fears, nobody expects nice promises this time, it's whose going to make there life worse.
The Torys won't win the election on there policy's or there record, the only way they can win is to scare voters into not voting Labour.
It might take our producers five minutes to find 60 economists who feared Brexit and five hours to find a sole voice who espoused it.

Those same organisation and 100 business leaders will then turn on the Tories if they win the election and talk moves on to the euro referendum, they really do not think past their own noses.

Its a big if, but if Labour actually play their cards right and call out big business for just looking out for big business they actually could use this very much to their advantage.

They dont, its more the ammunition it gives the media and political 'experts' that does the damage when they use such stories to paint anyone standing up to the privileged few in a negative light. No one actually reads the shitty Telegraph, but the exposure provided by other outlets and the spin that they put on it is what does the damage.

The latest Ashcroft polls, released today, show that Nick Clegg,  whilst closing the gap since a November poll, is on course to lose his seat in Hallam to Labour.

That'd be a huge fall from grace for Clegg, if it were to happen.

If the student voter registration drive works he's toast.

I think he'll keep it though. The Tories are giving NOTHING to that seat, so he can win if he can get some of their vote.

I hope Greens re-consider who they vote for in Sheffield and Hallam if no where else. According to Ashcroft polls Labour lead there by 4% and those 8% going to vote Green really could mean Clegg is kicked out.

Has everyone tried Vote Match and Vote for Policies yet?

I always get the Greens on those, closely followed by Labour. Steve Rotheram is my local MP and I think it'd take something monumental for him to not get in, and I will vote for him in the general but I may well vote Greens in the local.

There was an article on the BBC's site I think that, of the 650 MPs in the country, Steve Rotheram's about the safest of safe seats.

They must be very vague as I certainly haven't noticed them.

The only thing worst then those who are born into privilege are those who aren't but aspire to it or alternatively allow themselves to be corrupted by it when they acquire it.

If Steve Rotheram became leader I might just cast a glance at Labour.

Makes me wonder about Cameron's future though.  If he got the most seats short of an outright majority, but fails to form a government, would he have to go?

Why is Rotheram more left wing than Ed? How left does Ed need to go? I mean he's going to put corporation tax up, the top rate of tax back up, get rid of the bedroom tax, make those who are on zero hours contracts employed after 3 months, look to get a living wage.

A manifesto typically only covers a Parliament's first year.  I believe Steve would maintain a more socialist outlook over a full term.  He's also his own man; not a patsy for Murdoch or a poodle for a President.  He comes across as knowing what he stands for; a natural, strong leader who wont be manipulated or taken for a fool.  He's also more eloquent, passionate, charismatic and communicative.

And you wont see him posing with the f*cking Scum either.

If Cameron's not PM come the end of May, he'll be gone in a shot. No way he'll be forgiven for two failures to get a majority, not to mention letting Ed Miliband into no. 10. He's not exactly popular with many of the backbenchers anyway (certainly the rabid right-wing, eurosceptic lot) and his potential successors will be more than happy to stab him in the back at the earliest opportunity. All of which might explain the slightly desperate nature of his campaign so far.

It will really depend on how fragile the eventual coalition government is.

If the Tories have the most seats he may hang on for a few months and wait for the coalition to fail.

I'd be shocked. What's he going to do? Try for third time lucky when he already said he'd only go twice?

The Tories got rid of Thatcher after she won three straight majorities. They'll stab Cameron in the back without a second thought.

He won't go for a third term but if the Tories are the largest party without an outright majority then any coalition government which excludes them will be made up of minority parties.  These types of coalitions rarely work and their term can be measured in weeks and months rather than years.  That assumes the other parties can form a credible coalition in the first place.

In that event the Torries may try to form a minority one-party government which means they are governing on a week by week issue by issue basis which in turn means significant compromise in order to get legislation through Parliament.

Unless its a complete disaster for them I don't see him leaving until the autumn.

I see that Cameron is right on the edge tonight (in the debate) in his positioning and Miliband is bang centre.  Now i'm likely to vote labour, but i want to see Cameron front and centre, getting it from all sides.  Not sure if it was planned or the positioning balls in the bag were hot, but i get the feeling Miliband will be targeted tonight.  Seems like it could be make or break for Milliband to a lot of people, especially the swing or non committed voters.

The Conservatives are really quite annoyed at the way the draw came out. Cameron is peripheral on all wide shots, and has to crane his neck to his right all the time to listen to the others or look disengaged and haughty. (He's also on the far right as the viewer sits, which will have a subliminal effect in reinforcing people's beliefs about the Tories, especially as Bennett of the Greens is on the far left). The sitting Prime Minister can only lose in debates like this, which is why he didn't want to do them.

Whereas Miliband is in the 'prime' position and can engage or ignore without looking like he's billy no-mates. Obviously, the spotlight is on him but this is exactly what you want if you are the challenger. Of course he will be targeted - he should want to be targeted. Miliband needs as much screen time as possible to dispel the media image of him. If he screws up, then it won't matter where he is in the positioning, but if he does well, Cameron will look like a hanger on.

It's a really bad draw for Cameron.
