Even if you like the prequel trilogy, even if you really really really like it, there's still no way on earth that it's better than the original trilogy, unless you're a complete fucking mental case.

I never liked the fact that Lucas (essentially) turned SW over to a bunch of very creative people for the novels, starting with Heir to the Empire about 20 years ago, and then basically shit on them when doing the prequels.

Yeah, but he's come on a long way since then, his distribution is excellent and he makes more tackles than anyone in the league.

Incidentally I have read Revenge of the Sith which I find to be a good book.  I do actually rate the final prequel film quite highly, but I think it takes away from the Emperor in Return of the Jedi.  He goes from this subtle, manipulative genius, to a very generic, obvious bad guy.  I guess all those years unopposed blunted his edge a bit...

I watched those long reviews by Harry...someone. The first two were great, although a bit too nitpicky and he contradicts himself now and then. Overall they are spot on, and more entertaining than the films themselves. Mainly because of the humour. But the one for Sith...it's not really funny, and is for large parts simple a ranting lecture. At one point he compares Sith to Citizen Kane. He acknowledges it's a silly comparison a few times, but does it anyway. A disppointing end to the trilogy. Off to watch the short Avatar review now...
