West Ham Away
« on: April 16, 2017, 03:59:36 pm »
Just looking into what everyone's plans are for this game?
Reading that Stratford is a public transport destination so wondering where everyone is going for a pint beforehand and where's best to park etc.
We normally do Cockfosters but it's a hike on the underground

Home fans go to the micro brewery places in Hackney..google the Hackney beer trail..Hackney Wick station is on the London Overground line (Orange) ..Stratford is the furthest eastern stop..Hackney Wick is one or two stops shy of Stratford i think..

Big shopping centre at Stratford...Westfield..easy parking if anyone is driving..it has restaurants and the odd drinking spot but is not designed for a mass football crowd...don't bother...Hackney is the play
according to 24/7 I will be scrambling round for tickets on the exchange all season #STH #19awayclub

What's the away end like, haven't really taken any notice of it this season. Is it in one tier, several blocks, any clues where to aim for?

4 blocks in the Lower, 3 in the Upper.

Very far from the pitch towards the back of the Upper apparently.

It was great at the Olympics! I think they've changed the lower a bit but no pillars etc. I was half way up the upper for one day and still good.

I am not sure which bit is ours, but not worried about that.

Last away of the season, new ground etc. not that I agree with it but I'm not surprised in the slightest.
I was about to say the same! Sure there will be loads of sponsors.partners/corporates/tourists there!  :-\ But hopefully we have something to sing about and it's a good day.

I kee forgetting we are at home teh week after, so used to ending away!  :D

When I logged on at 8.15 there was a band from rows 12-16 already missing right the way along blocks 117, 118 and maybe further. Obviously put aside for the Corporate Ultras! ::)

You could see others already taken by fans too, but then you often get the odd seat left in rows etc - that s normally what happens. But several rows right across? I smell a rat!

We got row 11 so will be paying attention to those right behind us!  :-\

There's always a big rectangular block missing in what would be the best view.  They're the ones set aside for corporate aways and players' tickets.  Some of the latter often get returned and pop up later on in the sale.

It's really annoying at St James Park, for example -- and apposite since we'll be back there next season -- that on the first sale you can't get the front few rows of the balcony, but members with lower credits in the later sale then get offered them.  Just need to remember to pack your opera glasses.

Just looking there and there's very little tickets left on the site for this. Looks bleak enough for the 14+ sale tomorrow. Some joke. Are they holding some back for the 14+ sale or what's going on?

Questions do need to be asked. Like for example just from looking at tiger Tony's spreadsheet how can Palace (2900ish) be guaranteed on 13 and yet people with 14 supposedly aren't guaranteed for this (3000). It doesn't make sense. I know they'll probably be more of a corporate STH take up for this but the club need to come out and clarify how they calculate what quantity of tickets go to what parties and then disclose how much of that amount is actually taken up.

They do it for home games so why can't they do it for aways?
