How did Barnes not get booked? More than few bruises for the red men there.

Fair fucks. we were not very goos but showed a bit of steal and a moment of quality from Emre to win the game.

Small steps with our small team problem but i'm happy to have a win going in to the City game.

If he's being asked to head the ball too frequently - which isn't exactly his specialty - it could affect his ear and cause an infection. Especially if the ball hits him on the ear directly.

If we could actually win a clean header consistently we'd be under so much less pressure.

Absolutely fucking massive result for us. The jury is still very much out over whether we can find a way to beat these teams regularly but in isolation that is a superb outcome for us.

Just the fucking result we needed! ;D

Six points clear of United now, and we're slowly but surely solidifying our place in the top four!

Both Utd and Arsenal have 2 games in hand, but I'd take the 6 points on the board

Very worried with this teams mentality, I know at 2-1 we are winning but the way we retreated at home to a team who haven't won away all season....well it's very worrying.
We've fucked ourselves over trying be too open and attacking against these sort of teams in the past.  Shut the game down once we got ahead and made sure of the points.

Well done. We were a bit lucky there as we started to play out time from about the 75th minute. Burnley could have scored near the end.

Good goal by Can, tremendous block by Klavan just after we scored the 2nd and a good solid performance by Lucas and Matip near the end.

Sorry, Buzz Killington. ;D

Being serious, though, United aren't that much of a threat, and Spurs are now without Kane for a few matches which could be very good for us.

Matip was immense, won everything in the air and cleared a lot of balls too.

As did Lucas.

We've done that a few times this season, if we never beat the teams from seventh and down we wouldn't be where we are right now.

You don't have to be gung-ho but we need to control that better, you could see Klopp yelling possession from the sides but we were shitting ourselves, maybe understandably given the results against these kind of teams but we need to be a bit more composed when we're under the cosh, especially when we bring it on ourselves

I doubt it. We retreated too far and we didn't look confident when under pressure.

Fuck yes!

Big win, especially mentally... the fact we haven't been winning against these teams must have been playing on their minds.

Also, for the millionth time, fuck all you pessimistic twats.. especially those certain we'd lose at half time, despite the goal. Support your team ffs.

Said monkey on back couldn't possibly be the reason why we didn't look confident & retreated too far?

Disappointed by Origi, the lad really needs a goal. Not that he had amazing service to be fair.

Great 3 points. Nice to get back to back wins and not give the miserabilists more ammunition.
It's true to say that if Shankly had told us to invade Poland we'd be queuing up 10 deep all the way from Anfield to the Pier Head.
