Those of you at the game booing Lallana should be utterly ashamed of yourselves. After everything that player gave for this club and where he has taken us to now. He made the right choice clearly and I don't blame him one bit. Each and every one of you would do the same to further your careers.

thing is whilst their defence was open at times, Southampton didn't play bad ....and is it weird to feel very positive about how strong we looked in defence when we win 6-1?...maybe .....but its true!!

Wow. I am giddy with absolute joy after that performance. You could go through every player and write a good paragraph as to why they were good. Randall was booked after 7 minutes and the way he performed afterwards knowing he was one late challenge away from being sent off was wonderful. Skrtel and Lovren weren't perfect but they were solid enough and both covered our full backs well. Lucas was his usual controlling self, Can was a tank and Allen put in his best performance in 3 years. Origi got 3, Sturridge showed his quality and Lallana was industrious and was a perfect foil for our two pacey forwards.

Ibe came on and scored and set one up and Brad Smith came out of the cold and put in a good cameo that was topped off with an inch-perfect ball for Origi. We were just fucking fantastic tonight, especially so after going a goal down and initially looking sloppy. I cannot wait now for the Newcastle came, it can't come round quick enough. Klopp and his team (and Buvac and Krawietz deserve a lot of credit too) have transformed us. We are confident and attacking and we play hard but we aren't a dirty team, we play fair, competitive football. It's just an amazing turnaround in just a few months. There's a long way to go, we'll have poor or indifferent periods as every team does but we are on the right track to say the least.

Time for a pint!

Klopp asked for belief & I think this shows that the players have taken this on board. I feel that Rodgers had lost his belief & confidence & this showed particularly with Ibe, Lovren & Moreno. Klopp seems to have instilled this into the team, mirroring his own personality.
Long may this continue & there will be ups & downs along the way but the ride is getting exciting again. I haven't laughed so much at a football match since the 3-0 penalty fest v the Mancs in 13/14.😃

Don't think City will be up for us. A 1-4 a week ago was enough. Everton though, they will always be up for a derby.

We're so important for them, they'll twat City just to be around us! ;D
Everton will roll over in the first leg and ensure that City get to rest players in the second leg.

It's mental. A few months ago if I saw that line-up ahead of Southampton away (who were playing near enough full strength), I wouldn't have expected much. "No creativity in that team," I'd have said. Well, fuck me.

Think tonight has shown how far we've come as a team. It shows that we don't need individuals like Suarez, Coutinho, Gerrard etc to conjure up some magic in order to score goals. Our squad is starting to look much stronger.

I'm pretty fucking excited about what's ahead of us.

Did we win?

I was driving home and after 5 minutes listening on the radio, I thought we were in for a difficult match.

But then we just got better and better and better. Every single goal we scored was a gem.

Hope that Origi now gets the confidence he needs. We now have Origi, Sturridge and Benteke (and maybe Firmino) all trying to outdo each other. Once we get Ings back then we will be able to take off one striker and bring on an equally good one.

Lukas has always been one of my favourite players and he is now, once again, showing how good and under-stated he is.

Brilliant goal that Ibe scored including Origi's backheel to Moreno and his cross.

Game of the season so far.

MOTM.......every bloody one of them.

in fairness, it's not... injuries saw to that.

In all fairness, it should be Remembered that we did play some amazing football under Brendan as well and he has to take some credit for bringing the players you saw tonight to the club in the first place.

Couldn't get the best out of them though. Look at the confidence now! Allen doing backheels ffs

The first week in January is going to be an absolute clusterfuck of fixtures with the league, FA Cup and League Cup.

But I don't even care anymore. We didn't even have Sakho, Clyne, Coutinho, Firmino or Benteke today. Fuck me every player has bought in to this haven't they.
It's not that bad. Stoke away is hardly Kazan away. Two games a week is pretty normal anyways.

Great draw. Hopefully we get good draws in the early FA cup rounds as they are in the same week as our LC semis against Stoke.

Interestingly the final is scheduled on the same weekend as the merseyside derby, and only 2 days before City come to Anfield. In all likelihood at least one of those fixtures will be moved.

Premier League   West Ham v Liverpool   Sat 2 Jan
League Cup       Stoke v Liverpool      Tue 5 Jan
FA Cup              TBD                          Sat 9/Sun 10 Jan
Premier League   Liverpool v Arsenal   Wed 13 Jan
Premier League   Liverpool v Man Utd   Sun 17 Jan
Premier League   Norwich v Liverpool   Sat 23 Jan
League Cup       Liverpool v Stoke    Tue 26 Jan
FA Cup              TBD                          Sat 30/Sun 31 Jan

Premier League   Leicester v Liverpool      Tue 2 Feb
Premier League   Liverpool v Sunderland   Sat 6 Feb
Premier League   Aston Villa v Liverpool      Sat 13 Feb
Premier League   Liverpool v Everton   Sat 27 Feb

League Cup Final: Sunday February 28th

Premier League   Liverpool v Man City   Tue 1 Mar
Premier League   Crystal Palace v Liverpool   Sat 5 Mar
Premier League   Liverpool v Chelsea           Sat 12 Mar
Premier League   Southampton v Liverpool   Sat 19 Mar
We've got plenty of players who didn't play today or featured very little who can rotate in January too:

Mignolet, Clyne, Toure, Sakho, Henderson, Rossiter, Milner, Firmino, Benteke, plus the youngsters.

In his last few weeks he was manager he was without Benteke, Sturridge, Firmino and Henderson. Anyone would miss those players. Results under Klopp didn't pick up until Benteke and Firmino were fit.
He lost it last season when we played Swansea and he became unsure of himself, the little tactical changes were becoming pointless, we would give up the ghost at going behind, trying to fit square pegs in round holes.
Benteke and Firmino, I believe, were not his choices, and he  played Firmino out of position when he could play him.But most damning was his inability to motivate the same players who now run through fires for Klopp.

What an incredible result! Absolutely made up!

Bring on Stoke and then lets go on the march down to Wembley for the 2nd time in 2 years!

Feel like we can beat anyone away from home at the moment. teams jut cant cope with our pressing and counter attack. sort our hoe forout and this season turn into a very special one!

We’ll still finish in top four - and they won’t. You can quote me on this in May.

Don't think he's performing that much better than before, just not being forced to defend into wide areas which is where he's uncomfortable and would eventually make a mistake. Let him defend through the middle and he's fine.

For me this was the first match where Lovren looked a different player. He's been getting the basics right the past few matches but no where near Sakho ability. Today, though not in the same mold as Sakho, he looked fantastic, on his own terms. Chuffed for him.

This was also, imo, Allen's best game since the City win last year where he absolutely steamrolled Yaya.

So happy to see Lucas wear the captain's band. I love the man.

6-1. I was nervous before the game, but my word. Klopp. Can't really say much else personally.
