New HBO. Anyone seen this yet?

It's bleak as any show I've ever seen but brilliantly played. Check it out if you haven't seen it.

Love to get other vantages on it.

I was disappointed with episode 1, thought episode 2 was OK and enjoyed episode 3 - so it's getting better. I'm not quite sure where I stand with it though, there's too much mystery at the minute, I feel slightly disconnected from everything. There's definitely enough to keep me going for another couple of episodes at least.

Yeah, episode 3 was great. Eccelston was excellent.

Not quite sure what I make of the plot yet, it's odd and I know what you mean about the mysteriousness of it - but I like it so far.

The post 9/11 overtones, down to the Condalisa Rice haircut on the mayor are obvious. And all the religious stuff is interesting.

Quite sad in bits too. I'm going to stick with it too. The pace should pick up.

Episode 3 was definitely the best one so far, so its getting better. I'm not 100% convinced by it but theres still enough to make me come back for more at the moment.

This.

Episode 1 was a total miss. Didn't feel like HBO at all and the plot/scenes were absolutely uninteresting and low quality. Since then it has improved a bit. Third episode was by far the best and it surprised me it focused on one character but Eccleston was very good and is probably the best out of the lot there.

Have to agree with this, found the first episode very bleak and depressing. Haven't worked up the effort to watch the next 2 yet.

Give it until episode 3 before giving up if you can. Three was really good

Last episode went back to being bad again imo.

Completely agree. I'm struggling to care about any of the characters (other than Christopher Eccleston) but that's what happens when you only give one character any actual depth.

I'd like to think that adding mystery on top of mystery without any real explanation is going to lead somewhere and it will all make some sense in the end, but with Lindelof at the helm I'm not sure it will, even if it is based on a book.

It's interesting that some of the missing people have been cast with actors with a bit of profile though. Zoe's boyfriend from House of Cards is Nora's husband, for one. I assume at the very least we're getting flashbacks in the future. (Does that need spoilering? Does anyone care?)

Just watching episode 2 of this.

Spoiler
Shoot out at the start not very convincing. They just stop for ages to chat.

Can't say any of the acting in the pilot grabbed me but something about the premise has me intrigued to keep watching.

I'm watching the second one. It's much better, and it also clicked that Johnson is in it! And he's how Johnson would be in these circumstances, so I'm enjoying his character twice as much.

I watched the third, and it's defo the best so far, bar two things; Eccleston's accent is just odd. And after such an event, I think church attendance would double, rather than dwindle.

Hahaha.

On a general note, and thank you for the assist, the thing that was happening (still is maybe?) in the GoT thread and the book spoilers, is "amazing" to see it basically happens in every other forum I have been. How hard is to comprehend "no book spoilers"?

Same here. The last episodes have been an improvement to some of the ones they served us at the start. Focusing on the main characters and digging on their past a bit (and not on the unbelievable dull ones with Theroux's son and the psychic or whatever the fuck guy for example) helped that.

Only just seen this thread, I've been downloading it and mostly enjoying it so far, if that's the right word. Some freaky characters in it though, and some of the violence I have to look away, it can be pretty brutal. The ones in the cult annoy the fuck out of me though, especially Theroux's wife. Loved Lost though so gonna stick with this. Plus Justin Theroux is hot.
Rafa Benitez: "I'll always keep in my heart the good times I've had here, the strong and loyal support of the fans in the tough times and the love from Liverpool. I have no words to thank you enough for all these years and I am very proud to say that I was your manager. Thank you so much once more and always remember: You'll never walk alone."

I'm enjoying this in a weird kind of way. There are many dislikeable characters (and acting, Garvey's son in particular) but somehow I'm intrigued.

Yeah, there is not much I like about it, but I keep watching. Probably because it's only ten episodes, so may as well.

The title for the finale is

(It's officially released, but just in case)

So that will happen along with the GR's plan for Memorial Day, whatever that may be.
