What's happened to him? Has he gone back to Valencia?

We didn't pick up our option to buy him at the end of his loan.

It looks like Valencia are still trying to flog him, by playing him in the preseason shop window.

The Milans and Napoli have been linked.

There may be an opening for Cissokho, if Valencia can't get anyone better in, since their starting fullback last season, Juan Bernat, was sold to Bayern Munchen.

He's got 2 seasons left on his contract with Valencia.

Wasn't of the standard required but he'll be remembered fondly for being a member of the starting XI for both the Everton and Arsenal victories.

He played well in the first Emirates cup game. Got an assist too IIRC with a brilliant cross.

Defensively he looked a bit clumsy but he got better and actually was fairly solid. Wish him well.

I honestly thought he was a terrible signing after seeing him play in the first couple of matches. I suppose that was down to nerves and a lack of fitness because he injured himself right away. Gradually became better and I think there were the makings of a fairly solid second choice left-back, but we've moved on to bigger and better things now. Wish the lad well and hope he ends up somewhere where he gets first team football.

Wilshere took out Sterling in the second half at Anfield. Aly got in his face immediately...Gerrard drilled Wilshere about fifteen minutes later.

Good times.

Easily our best defensive full back last season IMO.

He'll do well at Villa, sad we never kept him, definitely better than Bertrand they had last year

Think he might be alright for Villa until Lambert gets sacked. Not like he'll be asked to play much football, just defend, which he was fine at.

Pretty sure this just highlights how poor that position was for us rather than Aly being a solution.

Yes defenders have to be good on the ball and be able to pass and move but ultimately their main job is defending and that was what Aly was best at. I would have liked to see him have another year here...

Get rekt! Lol that Cissokho parody video posted in May is one of the best footsie vids ever!

He'll do well at Villa, exactly what they need in defence really, brutal run of fixtures from gameweek 4 where they play 6 of the top 7 in a run of 7 games. They could be the leagues basement dwellers if they don't win their other games, along with Leicester most likely.
