PSG wins at last. Bummer.

PSG secure a scrappy 2-0 home win against newly-promoted Guingamp with two late, late goals of Rabiot and Ibrahimovic. Lyon crashed to a 2-1 defeat away to Evian and have lost 4 games in a row (including CL's play-offs).

It was a boring evening in Ligue 1 with just 4 goals in 5 games. Anyway, the results: Reims 0:0 Nantes; Rennes 0:0 Lille; Sochaux 0:0 Ajaccio; Lorient 1:0 Valenciennes; Bastia 2:1 Toulouse
We shall meet in the place where there is no darkness.

PSG VS Monaco this weekend big blockbuster matchup, can't remember ever looking forward to a French league game in my life. Arguably the biggest European football game of the week along with the Manchester derby .

Yep been watching it and that wire cam showed a cracking angle in the build up to the Ibrahimovic goal when the ball was played forward from the PSG defender.

That was a brilliant strikers goal by Falcao tonight, not many players would throw their head at that.

Guess PSG are cursing their luck now. Alex & Thiago Silva are injured, they might come to rue the day they decided to sell us Sakho.

Lille leading 2-0 against Evian TG with 30 minutes to go, Salomon Kalou has scored again. Marseille v Saint Etienne in 45 minutes, most appealing fixture this round.

Monaco is going to be very tough to catch... The fact that Monaco isn't playing in Europe is starting to scare me :(

Falcao (and riviere, wtf) is a fucking machine, and with Moutinho to pass the ball, damn..

Marseille picked up three point away from home vs Lorient, 2-0 win, Valbuena and Aeyw on the scoresheet. PSG leading 1-0 to Toulouse at home with 15 mins to go, Marquinhos with his first goal in Ligue 1 (if I am not mistaken).

Yesterday's results: Saint Etienne 2-2 Bastia; Sochaux 2-0 Valenciennes; Lyon 0-0 Lille; Nice 1-0 Guingamp; Evian Thonon Gaillard 1-1 Bordeaux. Lyon dropped to 8th position, currently on a run of winning just one of their last seven league matches/ ten games in all tourneys.

Monaco managed to get only a point from their visit at Reims, now level with PSG on top of the table but leading on goal difference. Newly promoted Nantes won 3-1 at Rennes and Ajaccio and Montpellier fought out a 1-1 draw.

I have noticed that Javier Pastore has only 1 appearance for PSG since the start of September.

Is he injured, or simply dropped?

Mm but should be dropped and sold I think. I liked Pastore in Italy but he is so poor in PSG now. I think he needs to feel that he is the star of the team or his self-confidence hits rock bottom.

he has been poor this season
I wouldn't say he was poor last season, especially the second half of it... He was actually very good, no flashy stats but still very good

I love Pastore but we would need to drop Ibrahimovic and make him play behind Cavani...
And it is hard to drop Ibra..

I was looking for a thread to ask about Abidal, Falcao, Moutinho, James Rodriguez etc. It seems it is a good place to ask how are these players doing?

They don't seem to be doing too bad, but I barely hear about these players. Are they all playing well?

Abidal and Carvalho have been really poor this season, may I say, one of the worst centre back pairings among the top teams in Europe I've seen in a while. Falcao has scored 7 in 10 games, doing well, while Moutinho and Rodriguez are still adjusting to life at Ligue 1, both have had diffucult start, but improving over the last few games.
