I was aware, Vintage nerd that the example was not from the Main Stand - but it is a useful guide.
The prices paid tend to be swathed in secrecy. Players can get them as part of their deals, businesses do contra arrangements, whether food and drink is included, all muddy the waters, as can the length of the lease taken.
£300,000 doesn't feel right. The most expensive personal premium packages are around £10,700 in the executive lounge. The benefits are every bit the equal of a box, and in some cases better. So if you took eight of those ( a box number), a table in the executive lounge, half way line seats, car parking and complimentary everything apart from fine dining, you would get change from £90,000 for the season. All league and cup games are included, so assuming 24 home games that is around £500 per game.
All the boxes were oversubscribed, so whatever the price, they went.
If you know someone who has paid £300k for a season, fair dos. A lease for three years, at £100k a season for the central boxes, feels more likely.
