A FOUR-FLOOR nightclub and separate four-level music venue just doors apart could be opened in Liverpool city centre.

Blueprints have been submitted to councillors for the premises on 48 Seel Street at the heart of the Ropeworks area.

Every other pub in the city will be rocking, come 12.45 Saturday.

If you are going into the city centre, it's a case of take your pick.

The Nash is always good, but you'll be lucky if you get through the door, as it will be rammed.

Tomorrow will be the first time I've stepped foot in Liverpool for nearly a year.

Heard the Jacaranda and Masque closed down, and read this article on the changing drink laws:
http://www.sevenstreets.com/bars-and-nightlife/the-partys-over-night/

Any new developments? Any tips on places to go this weekend?

I'm heading to Liverpool on friday before going down to London. We were planning on maybe catching Milan - Juventus on saturday, could you guys recommend me a good bar that will show it? Thanks.

Hmm. So after looking around on some different sites with TV schedules, it seems that this isn't on any channel. Is that possible?

It won't be advertised by many, if any pubs as it just won't attract that much attention over here because we're very much Liverpool or Everton supporters and for the most part don't give a toss about other teams, especiallly Seria A.

If you walk around town you'll definately find it on somewhere, or just ask the staff to put it on for you.

Somewhere like the Slaughter house always has these kind of games on, and depending whwre you are in town, you'll find it on somewhere, or a barman will put it on for you as long as it doesn't clash with anythimng else. Seeing as it's on at 7.45, I don't think anything is going to be clashing with that match, at that time.

You'll find it on somewhere.

Don't really go looking for the more esoteric game when I'm home but wouldn't either one of Carras places show it??

It's Satdee night in Liverpool.  Why not just head out to a few decent bars and meet some people rather than watching footy in a saddo sports bar?

Just a suggestion like.

I'll do that as well, the game is only 2x45 mins.

Not really sure what's so sad about a sports bar anyway.

But thanks for the suggestions, I'll look around!

If by decent beer you mean ales, as apposed to the mass produced stuff?  or are you talking mass produced but good, say, like a good pint of Guinness etc?

We were gonna go the National, but it'll be murder getting served. Might give that Hope and Anchor a try, nice one. Just gonna find somewhere at about 2ish and settle down for the day.

Big, or bigger than normal screens around town.

Not taking into account the numerous pubs with BIG tv's

The First Nash.  ---- Excellent big screen x2  excellent atmosphere, but a nightmare to get served, as it's always chocka.
The Vernon Arms ----- decent size screen, but the screen quality was a bit off last time I was there.
Rose and Crown ----- as above. Large screen, but was a bit blurred(the screen-not me) on last visit.
White star. ----  Decent big screen in back room, especially with lights out - downside is it's a tiny room that seats about 15 people.
Reileys (snooker) ---- excellent big screen, but limited space for seating, and I'm not sure if you HAVE TO BE a member or not.(I am, so didn't ask)
Hope and Anchor ----- decent screen, in a big room.
Hannah's     -------- I believe it's got a big screen, but never seen it in use.
Walkabout ---- big screen, big room, shame about some of the clientel.Stag night heaven kinda place.
Flanagans Apple  ---- good big screen, in a fair sized room.   Excellent Guiness.
Crocodile -- decent screen, decent pub, shame it it's like standing in a corridor.
William Gladstone ---  big screen, always moderately/very busy.
Picture House --- good sized screen, good match atmospeher, pub a bit tatty.
Irish American bar -----  big screen, but not seen it.
Liffey. ---- decent sized screen, but never visited it.
Liverpool ---  Big screen - not seen it.
Rubber Soul ----  Big screen, big room.
Shenanigans ----  Big screen at back - not seen it
Slayghterhouse ----  Big screen, plus TVs, good boozer.

Riley's --- Mountpleasant -- No big screen, but 3x huge 60" TV's.

The not sure's

The head of steam -- used to have a big one, but not been in there for a while
Abbey ---- Not sure if it still ahs it's big screen or not. It used to.
Blackburne Arms  ---- not been in for a while.
The Dugout.  -- (Lord nelson Hotel)Not sure if the back bar is still open -- decent sized screen and a good choice of beers in the back sports bar.   Good sized screen in front holel bar.

I'm suer there's numerous ones I've missed because they're pubs or bars that are not on my regular drinking list, so feel free to add or subtract any from that lot above.   :wave

I'm sure The Casa, Hope Street has a big screen in the back room they use for big matches, but the Hope & Anchor (Its a Scream) is your best bet in that area, fair priced ale and cheap grub too.

Anyone been to The Fly In The Loaf, i've been told that's a good pub & has Rugby League on. I've been meaning to give it a try one day, the only problem it's halfway up Hardman Street towards the Philharmonic, which can be a bit of a hike.

Liverpool not really being an egg-chasing city, you won't find rugby on in that many places.

If it's games on a night that doesn't clash with football, then you can usually ask a barman to turn over for you.

The couple of pubs that do usually have rugby on on a regular basis are usually The Fly, Pogue Mahone's, and Flanigans.  The latter two are obviously more Irish sport/Irish teams,  orientated.

To be honest any time I've been to Mojo on a weeknight it's been dead, about 10 people in there, defo not a bonus.

That and the Flute on hardman street are proper decent pubs. I'd recommend it, and like the fella above me said, if there is no footy the barman will probably change it for you.

Cheers, although Footballs my main sport, i do like other sports, & i've read on RL Forums even if theres a Football game on, The Fly will show RL on one of there TVs, i've said to a few mates i'd love to go to The Fly one Saturday we decide to have a piss up in Liverpool rather than my local.

I presume the Irish bars will show the RaboDirect Pro12 League.

To be honest, I think it depends on the nature and importance of the game, plus what it clashes with on onther chanels, to which game they show, etc.
