Obvious Lukaku suddenly playing as well as he can is obvious.

And Turnbull having a blinder.

As a lot have already said, their youngsters worry me. There are plenty of places up for grabs in Chelsea's team so they'll need no extra motivation. There's also the worry that Torres will score, which wouldn't be a nightmare given it's only the Carling Cup, but I'd still rather his barren run against us (and everyone come to think of it) continue.

Having said that our team is good enough to win and I'm very happy at Bellamy's inclusion. I don't hold much hope for Carroll tonight, but I'd love to be proved wrong.

Agree with this.

We need to keep focussed, we're not exactly putting our strongest team out there either and it's at the bridge so they'll be well up for it.

They need a good cup run just as much as us, won't be an easy game but it's winable.

In some areas (like LB), yeah.  But he doesn't really have any other options at CB, CM (except Mikel), and Lukaku needs games (like Carroll does for us).  Age has caught up with Chelsea's squad in the last year, it'll be interesting to see where Abromovich goes from here.

Think this can go two ways (stating the obvious) But Chelsea's youthfulness could see them through as they'll have more energy and have had more time off, or we'll be too strong for them and Lucas will boss the midfield, with big Andy giving Luiz a torrid time. I'm going for option B ;)

Looking at their team I'd have us as favorites, but not by much. Think those younger lads are much more suited to the type of game Villas Boas is trying to implement than the old guard.

A little bit too much confidence in here having seen that Chelsea line-up. Make no mistake, they have some very good players in that side, more than capable of causing us some problems.

We will not "twat them".
I trust the King, but if we lose a few more on the trot now - he may have to step aside, and we have to purchase another manager in the middle of the season. If we are relegated, this could be the end of our ambitions to win any title the next 100 years.

Spearing is a great addition for this - I'm worried Lucas is going to be knackered (and rightfully so after his performance on Sun...). Hopefully those two can dominate the midfield.

Haha quite possibly.  Obviously he's been saying he wants to cut his investment into Chelsea, but then completely went against that in getting Torres and later Mata.  So who knows.

Talking about Chelsea as a squad, they really need to sort out their attack. They do not need to feel too concerned with the wide players, but having any of Torres, Lukaku, Drogba and Anelka (even though Anelka is a little more interchangable) on the pitch at the same time will not work. I've seen little of Lukaku but from what I have seen of the 4 strikers is that they do not work well together, all of them enjoy being the main goalscorer in the team. Anelka and one of the others can work a little better considering he can drift in and out, but Torres and Drogba for example, as a combination, just does not work. For us, Torres was for more effective when he played alone through the middle with genuine wide men and a supporting midfielder. Chelsea do not play like this. Drogba, Anelka and Lukuka will never compliment him.

I think its gonna go 1 of 2 ways. It's either gonna be cagey with fringe/squad players not wanting to make mistakes or the complete opposite and bit more of an attacking game from both teams.

either 2-1 us or a high scoring 4-2 to us!

This isn't going to be easy, regardless of what you people are saying. Our defensive game will have to be tight and error free because they are putting out a number of dangerous players.

Here's hoping for a Torres OG.

In no way is this going to be a walkover. Absolutely no chance. Their players are going to be right up for this and as someone mentioned, these younger players might actually carry out AVB's playing style much better than the old guard. Furthermore, those players are quality and the only thing they don't have is experience which is where we should capitulate.

I like our side but we have to go gung-ho at the start or I think we'll be in trouble. I'm the eternal optimist so I'll go 2-1 to us in normal time.

depending on what subs are made but I think we're strong for takers though.
