The press is already doing their best to destroy his confidence, why not join in as well before he we have even seen him in a red shirt

Annoying that isn't it? No one is expecting people to support players on here like we do when we're playing but to see some getting on his case and swallowing that whole Sky and media agenda about the fee is sad really
If you can't trust Kenny, you need to find another club, seriously.

Not worried for a moment about Henderson. He's got the basics of a good footballer (technique, reasonable pace, brain), and with Kenny working on his mentality and confidence, plus playing with quality players next season, he will blossom into a top quality player.

Needs to work on his strength though. Gym will fix that  :)

Words fail me

the editorial is very different from the commentary, which bemoans the lack of movement in the team and the options available to the passer.....the spin is to be expected unfortunately

Not even getting worked up over all the opposition fans going mad over Henderson and the rumoured fee, dont really see a point. He's a good player and Kenny and Clarke are in a different league to Pearce, especially when it comes to working with players. Not even wasting my time explaining my thoughts on his performance in the tournament. Its a tournament, its hilarious to think back to how these same people taking shots at Henderson reacted to their own teams players shocking performances in other tournaments in contrast to this.

Im looking forward to seeing Henderson play for us, he's a good player with alot more to his game than people seem to realise, will be funny to see everyone underestimate him like the did Lucas for so long. Couldnt care less what they think

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand here's the thead, bumped to the top again, with nonsense.

Some of you should be taken out the back and rogered by a sasquatch.
I trust the King, but if we lose a few more on the trot now - he may have to step aside, and we have to purchase another manager in the middle of the season. If we are relegated, this could be the end of our ambitions to win any title the next 100 years.

As an ever-so-slightly-left-leaning American and an LFC fan, I can safely say that the only thing Rupert Murdoch has ever done that I don't hate with an irrational passion is sign the checks for the production of a small handful of TV shows. And we're talking 10, maybe 11 tops.

No mate I have judged him for Suderland mostly and what I have seen.

I don't judge players by Internationals.

Just 45 minutes of testimonials then eh.  ;)

Not having a go at you here inparticular Fordy but the amount of our supporters that seemed to have watched enough Sunderland games to form a solid opinion amazes me...im suprized that anyone watched us last season with all that Sunderland scouting going on.

Despite the fact you said you wouldn't judge him until he was in a red shirt; you must have meant red and white.

but is he a good buy? yes, as i believe he will improve. He's part of us now so good luck to the lad.

I feel sorry for the fella, the Lucas brigade and sections of the press are going to be all over him next season imo. Only hope for the fella is putting in some Gerrard like performances next season.
Not every player is going to have the mentality of Lucas therefore might get to some of the young lads we sign and the be honest its nothing short of a fucking disgrace.

i think the frustration might be a feeling of scepticism towards our scouting and purchasing of players.  considering what we had to endure last summer, many of us knew poulson, pk, and cole were wrong for the club, many were proved right. the players  coming in are fine, just the price staggers me. because for hendersons entire career ahead of him i cant see him costing more than 20million. we're overpaying on potential, why im not sure. in many ways it makes the academy redundant,

He did not cost £20 million.

His acquisition does nothing to render our academy redundant.

He is a good player who has been bought under the auspices of our new recruitment policy in the round - as Henry has gone on record saying:

"We intend to get younger, deeper and play positive football…"

Henderson slides perfectly into that remit.

How hard is it to see this?

So liverpool's scouting system, Dalglish, Commoli etc are all a bit thick?

Also, just wondering. Of those 8-9 occasions you watched him last season, had you sat down and scouted him specifically, or did you just watch the games and he didn't catch your eye?

Were overpaying on English potential why just look at at Arsneal Narsi kicking up a fuss Fabregas will he go wont he go core of that team will ripped from under them sooner or later and then they will have to rebuild again.
English or British players don't seem to hit the continent all to often so a club can build a team around them and so for the very best of the British potential you have to overpay for them it is as simply as that really.

i keep hearing the figure, if it's 13 then its not overpaying.  Henry's quote isnt necessarily a path to success at all, isnt it valid to have some degree of scepticism?  i'm questioning the remit, not the player here.

I think the myth "Most Knowledgeable Fans In The World" can finally be laid to rest now. We really do have some absolute whoppers supporting us.

I know, just a thought like, but why don't we see how he performs in a red shirt, managed by Kenny with far superior players around him, hey we could even give him a season or two to see what he's got to offer before making rash judgements on the lad's ability.

when i watched him, he just didnt stand out..  He was ok, as i've said before, have seen better from shelvey, who i think is the real deal at a fraction of the price. I'm just not sure who he'll be competing with for a first team place.

He's not even trained with us let alone played.

England are shit, Pearce is shit, Sunderland are poor, Fat Head couldnt manage his way to finding his fat head with both hands.

Judge Henderson once he's in our team surrounded by good players, a great coaching team and a fantastic manager.

Buying young talented players, with an attacking philosophy, and to buy deep so that we have multiple quality in all areas, is not 'necessarily a path to success'? Its hard not to think that you are taking the piss. How else are you going to create the foundations for a long term sustained basis for achievment and replenishment?

Again, you're criticising a template focussed on youth, young talent, depth and attacking philosophy?

And then you claim you're a sceptic bringing the measure of scepticism, when you can't even be arsed to be sceptical about the Sky inflated bullshit price of 20 million?

Lord give me strength.

Do you think i would even argue with you if we were buying  real young talent? I dont think the young players we've bought are talented enough to challenge our first team players, or be the game changers we need for some seasons to come, and as for adding squad depth do we just sell the players we have coming through the from the reserves?
