They'll start with Boufal instead. Doesn't weaken them at all.

Hope we hatch a plan for him if he starts, not a player that should be eggnored.

Sadly no Benedict to be seen. But Trent Alexander-Arnold on the bench would be fine.

This is why Everton refuse to let the Irish lads go on international duty. Refuse to pay for the ferry and mini bus home.

This is awesome.

If Coutinho and Firmino are being fly blown back literally on the day of their international game then there is no danger of them missing the Southampton game.

Reminds me of when all the clubs split a private jet back for the Belgium players once, except Everton who made Lukaku and Mirallis wait for a normal plane

Always love this fixture. Thrown up some amazingly entertaining and bizarre moments.

Was it the following year after the 3-3 when Riise scored what would be his first phenomenal headed own goal?

I paid considerably more than that for mine for what it's worth.

Yeah the 3-3 was very early in 00/01. The Riise own goal came in a 2-0 defeat in about Jan 02 at the end of a sticky patch for us.  Have a feeling that after that we went on a great unbeaten run until we lost to Spurs in the penultimate game.

You're looking at at least 6K to fly business class. Per player.

Each way.

Do you think they'll sleep on the plane? I mean, that's what they're supposed to do, but I can't help imagining what a bunch of young Brazilians are going to get up to on their private jet...

Even if they do sleep I think they'll only be good for light training on Thursday, and then get assessed on Friday for their fitness. Don't be surprised if they're on the bench.

Bit nervous about this game, fucking hate international break especially as the two Brazilians are our two best players now.Hopefully they both play but can see one been left on the bench. We weren't our best after the last break so here's hoping Klopp has them firing.

Why's this Firmino and Coutinho thing being blown over? Don't they always come late but play every time anyway? If they're flying in on Wednesday there should be no problems. If not:

Karius
Clyne Matip Lovren Milner
Can Henderson Lallana
Sturridge Origi Mane

Mignolet, Klavan, Moreno, Lucas, Wijnaldum, Coutinho, Firmino

Studge and Origi destroyed them last season so I'm not overly concerned. Mane played #10 for Senegal the other day so we could even go diamond.

Pretty sure that was an evening game wasn't it - televised?

As an aside, I always associate that goal and that game with the death of Feeder's drummer, Jon Lee.  Looking at the dates, that had sadly happened two days earlier but - owing to time difference and perhaps the nature of the news back then - I'd only learned of it on the day of the game.   I was a big Feeder fan back then, and just remember feeling so strange around that match - had never really had cause to think about issues such as suicide until that :-\

Anyway, sorry, the football...

I think last time Firmino played a full game after coming back, while Coutinho was a sub. Maybe then, as this time, Firmino had only cameo roles for Brazil

Both Coutinho and Firmino started against United after the last international break. But that game was on a Monday instead of a Saturday so they had 2 extra days rest.

In the September international break only Coutinho was called up to Brazil and he was on the bench the Saturday when he returned against Leicester and played about 10 minutes.

Coutinho started the last couple of games. Firmino is mainly a sub and gets 10-20 minutes at the end.

How boring was last weekend without a Reds game to focus on? I had to talk to my wife and play with my kids and stuff.

Hurry up Saturday. Soton away always feels like a tough fixture but we tend to do well there, other than Skrtel and Mignolet's collective second half brainfart last year.
