I am quite puzzled by this matter. I have signed, and I stand by it, because I don't see Mr. Hodgson as the best man for the job, neither did I think it when I first heard he was the new manager. I remember a couple of years ago when Mr. Hodgson was the manager for my national team (I'm from Finland), and I recall that he used tactics quite defensive and got rather criticized for the inefficient attack, so when I saw he was the new manager for Liverpool FC I was doubtful, I hoped there wouldn't be any déjà vu sensation.
However, as long as he is our manager, he needs, or better still, deserves, our support. How is he supposed to be able to do anything without our support? How can we, the supporters, stand by and scream at Mr. Hodgson, whilst what we really should do is our job, which is supporting our team? I know I might sound like a hypocrite, saying that I don't believe he's the man for the job, but at the same time saying that he needs our support. It's hard though, isn't it? Supporting a man we don't find suitable. We might all realize he doesn't have what it takes, and even though we might not like him, he needs our support. Liverpool FC needs our support. Shouting at him won't make the thing better, in fact, it makes the situation even worse.
To summarize, I don't believe that Mr. Hodgson is the right man, but he Deserves our support as long as he is our manager. I might be happy the day I read that we've got a new manager, but still, as long as he's our manager, I will support him, it's the only thing I see correct to do. Who are we to turn the back on our own beloved club and execute our own manager? Where did the "we stand together in wet and dry" feeling go away, that we're supposed to be famous for? As I said in the beginning of this post, I am quite puzzled by this matter.
