I like the looks of this. The club looks like it`s constantly getting stronger under FSG. We now seem to have alot of expertise at the head of the club in the commercial side under Ayre and Bartlet. Can only help the club continue to grow in the coming years.

I think you'll find it's pronounced patronising.
From here on in its all FSG's doing. Good or bad they will stand or fall by the decisions they have made in the summer of 2012. Lets hope they have gotten it right.

That's some CV this guy has got. From Liverpool and life long as well.

I really like the way FSG work.

Let's not get hung up on the "Liverpool fan" thing. Lest we forget a certain Mr. Purslow is also a Liverpool fan

Bleurgh....get over it

Don't think anyone will ever 'get over' what an utter c*nt that man was and what he did to our football club.
All he is saying is take all these proclamations of eternal love to LFC and claims of season ticket holding with a pinch of salt.
Couldn't care less about where he was from and who he supports so long as he does his job well, that's all that matters.
I got the Lucas thing wrong. Will be right on Henderson though. Play him RM, play him CM - Not good enough and never will be.

Not sure gettin' in a man from Adidas' major rivals is a good idea  :-\

What difference does it make?  He wont be working for Nike when he joins us will he?

I understand that. However I do get frustrated at the immediate cynicism to which people are treated, be it players/backroom staff/those working for the club. He said he's a Livepool fan which triggers a 'ah, but are you really?' reaction. If we were discussing the owners then fine but this guy is somebody who has been brought in as Commercial Director - a position where he has the potential to grow the club but not take it apart, and yet there are those are who are unjustifiably overly cautious of the position & the man himself - a Commercial Director of a worldwide sports brand. Do people understand what it takes to get to that position?! Do people honesstly think he is going to go into the club with an agenda to destroy it?!

Just don't get it myself. Caution is fine but it must be necessary & relevant.

And also, why the questions about his role with Nike & how that will conflict with LFC & Adidas?! It's compeltely irrelevant. People leave companies to work for competitors all the time.

I understand the question, I just tire of it. We are in a good place now, let's embrace it.

Spending 4 years [2001-2005] as UEFA's Head of Business Affairs and Account Management  must be of some value.

Big news if true, huge addition to LFC. Kleinman is sky news finance editor

MarkKleinman Bartlett will join Liverpool from the US sportswear giant Nike. Statement expected tomorrow morning, I'm told.

MarkKleinman I've learnt that Liverpool FC will announce tomorrow the appointment of Graham Bartlett as its new commercial chief. goo.gl/oNFqp

If he is the bellend that has delayed coverage of the Reserve fixture then he can fuck off as far as I'm concerned.

Knew about this a few weeks a go, but was sworn to secrecy.

Won't necessarily affect warrior deal, thoiugh I haven't heard if its been officially signed yet?

His greatest attribute is his inside knowledge of the biggest sports deals around. He has obv worked on the Man Utd deal, and at the other end...Everton (a story to be told there!!)

What's good about all this is the two pronged, but connected, approach.

Remember the debacle of post Istanbul marketing?? We should have cashed in (in pure marketing terms).

Now we are preparing for success, on and off the pitch. Kenny is being backed with players -- the club's brand is being backed with a top marketing team.

PS: I also know Mark Kleinman -- he doesn't post stuff unless he's sure. And has very good sources in the City.

Seems to be a smart appointment on paper. Lets see how he fares - filling Ayre's shoes is a huge task.
Would love the 19th more and more trophies; but would love even more to see a fan owned LFC.

It's from twitter. The guy who twittered it is from SLY. Hope it's true but with the source it might as been as believable if we were rumoured to be employing Doctor David Banner to look after the Pschology side of things.

Ayre to return to the position of Commercial Director, with a new MD brought in?

In light of the club's poor handling of the Suarez affair..

I think this is a genuine possibility. Ayre has looked out of his depth as MD so far.
