The State! Wow, great memories of that place circa 1993.
Think then should leave it now though, those days will never be replicated.
15/4/89 never forgotten.

Yeah, I agree. I went the State every single Friday, and the odd Saturday, for about a year around 92/93, it was fucking boss. Had my first gary in there, danced like a fucking bellend all night. Loved that place.

1989 was the summer in The State.

Haven't been to any of these reuinion things as I reckon half the buzz was because I was a kid.

Yes please.

John Kelly! More of an Underground man if I remember rightly.

I think we'll all complain that it's too loud and there's no brown bitter on.

I did both like lid.

Better birds in the State, better drugs in the Underground. It was a tough call who'd get my time.  ;)

The Sate was the best.

By the time the Quad opened the scene had lost a bit of the buzz.

PRESS RELEASE – THE FARM – “ALLTOGETHERNOW” 20th ANNIVERSARY  &  OPERATION SHOEBOX CHARITY SINGLE

Operation Shoebox UK in conjunction with The Farm’s record label Demon Music Group have come together to raise funds for the Shoebox appeal which will send out over 14,000 shoeboxes to troops and personnel in Afghanistan this Christmas. On the 20th Anniversary of the release of The Farm’s classic hit single ‘All Together Now’ the Liverpool based group have kindly agreed to re- release the single and donate proceeds from all downloads of All Together Now to the appeal from December 1st to the 31st. During the month of December the Shoebox appeal are encouraging people to download the track to raise funds for their parcels which are sent out throughout the year.

The shoeboxes are filled with popular items which make the lives of personnel abroad more bearable. Ian Whiteway one of the organisers of the appeal which is endorsed by the Ministry of Defence said “I’m sure lots of people will be keen to help our troops and personnel at a time when they are far from home and engaged in difficult tasks  abroad.  It is the little things that we all take for granted that makes life out there more tolerable, items like razors, underwear, toothpaste and magazines.  It would be nice if as many people as possible filled a shoe box to help bring a little cheer to our troops and importantly, let them know that back home in Britain we are thinking of them. A big thank you to all those who have helped with Operation Shoebox and especially The Farm who have agreed to let us use their song!”

Peter Hooton lead singer of The Farm commented ‘We had already arranged to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the song with a concert in Liverpool on Dec 4th but when the Shoebox Appeal asked us to consider re-releasing the track we thought it was the right thing to do. The song is about a ‘spirit stronger than war’ and the Shoebox Appeal fits into that sentiment. This appeal is about giving and that’s surely what Christmas is all about! ”

The single is available for download from iTunes here ……………..
