Josh T Pearson blew my tiny little mind like he has done twice before!

I can't wait to see what the Two Witnesses (his new project) come out with in the coming months, i'd be happy with them just putting a collection of gospel songs out.

Gong are playing at the Kaz next Tuesday.

It wont be the samt since Daevid passed away this year.

Still going down though for some flute salad !

As if Godspeed played BBF3 to close their set. Many emotions. Left hand side in the Camp and Furnace is horrible viewing for a gig mind, luckily I had made my way into the middle for the last few songs.

Incredible ending. I thought the version of Peasantry couldn't be topped, but was wrong. My wife found the perfect spot at the gig; just by the entrance bar, on the couch, reading a book whilst listening to the band. Said it was awesome listening to them that way!

From no gigs this week to two...

Going to see WSTR in the Well Space(I think that's the venues name) this evening.

And Drenge in The Magnet tomorrow, they were great in the kazimir earlier this year so looking forward to that.

Can anyone tell me what the Bumper is like on a Thursday band night. Do they get a few in?

My lad's band is playing there in a couple of weeks and it's around a 360 mile round trip. Just wondered if it's worth it.

Played there about five times with various bands, been dead all but once. Might just be my music like ;D but unless there's someone on the bill who will pull a big crowd, I'd have to say chances are slim. Last time was about 18 months ago though so might have perked up since then.

Thanks for that Sam. that's about what I expected. It's the same everywhere really.
Just hope there is a couple of decent local bands playing, I know our lads have a busy week so they won't be bringing anyone to this one as everyone that supports them are doing it Friday and Saturday night at slightly more local gigs.
Don't know why they are doing it really but they don't possess a lot of sense

Vic Goddard & Subway Sect last night at Shipping Forecast, great show.

Support band The Floormen were fucking brilliant as well. Lad sporting a nice hand-painted Telecaster and a great rhythm section.

Health issues apparently. Sad news, seems like they've had to pull lots of dates previously as well. Must be really frustrating for them, just breaking out and this happens.

Joanna Newsom was fantastic in the Phil on Wednesday, one of the most talented musicians I've ever seen.

Bill Ryder-Jones next for me on Thursday. I considered not going after we drew you know who in Europe, but I really want to go to the gig and I'll just watch the first half of the match in town.

Sold the Manc ones on StubHub, face value as I'm not a c*nt, and sorted tickets for the Liverpool show. Bossed that, I have to say.

Pleased to be staying local to see The Bluetones this week, having tripped to Manchester for three gigs in a month recently.

A friend encouraged me to make a list of the gigs I've been to over the years recently - having lost many of the ticket stubs, I'd seemed a nice little nostalgia trip.  Was amused to note that The Bluetones will this week be my 50th, having also been the first band I've seen live...with an eighteen year gap!  Bought a t-shirt back then that still fits - they weren't seeling them for 10 year olds back at the Preston Guild Hall in '98!

Christ that would be some undertaking, can't even remember all the gigs I've played, let alone been to...got a folder full of ticket stubs somewhere but plenty more I've forgotten...might have a crack someday though.

Smithdown Festival and FESTevol for me this weekend, busy busy. Hopefully catch some good bands at both.

It was a genuine logistical nightmare fitting in the 'two gigs in a night' in those days. I remember The Stranglers at the Montford Hall then down to the Royal Court to catch the end of the Pretenders. Did the same to see the end of Gary Numan at the Empire, though can't for the life of me remember who I saw first!
