Come on now, we all know this is Ayre's mirror Rossi.

I'd laugh if it wasn't entirely possible.

Naaah, I dare say Margaret Aspinall wants him sacked as well after that tirade she laid onto him at the Hillsborough memorial service.

Why do people feel the need to speak negatively about Ayre (or anyone on the LFC staff)?  Do you know what job he does on a daily basis? Or how well he does it?  Revenues are up, stadium plans are coming together, and the academy seems to be working well. Sure, transfers have been mixed but the team is top of the league. Let the man get on with his job FFS! I bet none of you are perfect in yours.

I dont thnk our transfer activity has been 'mixed', I think that it has been 'very good'. Since FSG took over in 2011 the club has had net transfer spend of GBP100m and by my estimation the value of the squad has increased by about GBP100m. Now that in itself doesnt sound too exciting but buying players usually costs a club - we amortize GBP35m a year in player acquisition costs through the accounts which has left us with a considerable unrealized profit. I am not sure any of our nearest competitors have done as well (unless I have to include Everton.)

His quotes always seem confused and lacking thought.

Primarily because as a person he is quite confused and lacking in thought!

Actually, I also think our transfer business has been good but looking at it from the point of view of others that's the only thing anyone might be able to complain about with Ayre. In hindsight, it was very sensible of us to keep our money in our pockets in the last transfer window and in summer 2012 when we didn't spend money on Dempsey.

It's almost like they might know what they are doing. You know, coupled with being top of the league, our players being recognised, youth getting a chance, Anfield expansion about to be announced this week, big new sponsorship deals coming on board, etc.

I don't think its come from the offy site or the Echo, so would appear he's probably been asked the question when been at an event or something and answered it about as vaguely as you can.

Should probably of just said it's not the time to talk about that like, but I don't think it's done any harm like.

After January I'd rather see them just do a deal or don't and not try to feed the fans hope about hypothetical transfers and hypothetical spending sprees.

No one is likely to leave after the season we have had.

Oh I wasn't having a dig or anything, just never seen anyone defend him like that. I think when people do have ago at Ayre a lot of it is in a joking way. I mean at the end of the day he might not be the best at getting deals done, but he's a big Liverpool fan and has got a lot of commercial deals sorted. So fair play in that regard.
