I booked shortly after the draw was made but made the mistake of waiting until it was confirmed in Sofia.  Cost £230 return flights and two nights in hotel.

The one and only reason anybody should use TC is to get on the ladder.  They sort your ticket and it's  recorded in your purchase history.

If you're already on the ladder, there's far cheaper ways.

Yeah see I've got no away credits, this is a good chance to get on the ladder, I can usually get tickets off the lads etc but be good to have my own going forward

Hypothetical question this but if we drop into the europa league, will games go down to all members? Obviously would depend on the allocation
Would've thought so mate.

All four games last time did.

You think if you have 2/3 CL away's from this season on your ST you will be pretty much sorted for anymore away's this season or next?

3 from this season and you are basically guaranteed now as only 1800 or so can have 3, only 2000 and a few can have 2 from this season so yep 2/3 should get you all tickets now unless we drop to Europa and get someone with a tiny allocation

You'll have to bear in mind though that you'll still only have 1 away, whilst there are at least 4,000 other with at least 1 away.  If we were to go through, I reckon you'd end up having to do at least 1 more through  TC before you can make you're own way.  A bit of a calculated risk.

Phil, I've also got a spare but due to work commitments can't now travel as planned. If I pass my ticket to Wayne would you mind taking it over with you & seeing if you can sell it before the game ?
No problem, hopefully some east european reds about

No chance. We managed to get flights, ticket and accommodation (4 nights stay) for ~£115 direct from Manchester. Thomas Cook are a bunch of touts

£126 from Heathrow to Sofia with British Airways and £70 for a two night stay in a four star hotel(sharing). Took the gamble of booking the flight to Sofia on the day of the draw.

same trip now by BA would cost you nearly £800. So you must be pretty smug about that. Have a great trip, look forward to the tales.

Our group will have a couple spare. Do you think there will be people out there or before hand who'll need a ticket or do you think it'll be like the Europa league with only a few there?
I'm going with my uncle on the 06.00 manchester Tuesday we haven't got tickets sorted so deffo looking for spares.

Expect them prices to change when we get there, Madrid charged more or less the same as in Basel in and around the plaza, A roll call and a large boozer is needed for this one.

This article from the Independent might help

You could buy Bulgarian currency – the lev – in advance, but frankly it would be a waste of money; you will get a far better rate for Sterling once you arrive in the country. Take £5, £10 and £20 notes – £50s are regarded with suspicion abroad. Pre-paid currency cards offer a degree of added security, but you will be paying exchange charges as well as an ATM fee if you use one abroad to withdraw cash. Should you happen to have some euros left over from a previous trip, take them – prices for hotels and car rental are often expressed in euros, and the euro/lev exchange rate is keener than the pound/lev rate.

The good news is: whatever form you choose to take your currency in, you should not need much of it. Bulgaria offers the cheapest beachside living in Europe. (The only cheaper large country is Serbia, which is landlocked.) One more word of advice: spend the three-hour plane journey learning the Cyrillic alphabet. Being able to read street signs and understanding, for example, that PECTOPAHT means "restaurant", will make your holiday much easier.

Will add this as well

Guys as I said before if you go to http://jjmurphys.bg/ pub  ..it's gonna be full of liverpool fans from UK and BG as they have arranged to meet there. A lot  of em are planning to go to the champion youth game too.
Any thickets that anyone has spare bring em in as there lots of Bulgarian reds that want to buy them as the club didnt allocate enough to meet the demand. I know  the owner of  the place and I promise you he wont put prices up. Stick to local pints as they are much cheaper then the foreign beers and they are pretty good. Has a nice garden for smokers and atmosphere will be buzzing as every time  I have been there with the local reds it has been non stop singing.
