Have you seen Adam's free kicks? And what if Fabio is playing?

Aurelio is nowhere near as good a freekick taker as people make out, he's scored what? 2/3? in recent memory. Pretty much every freekick Suarez has taken since he's been here has either a) gone in b) come very close to going in (either hitting the woodwork or going wide with the keeper rooted) or c) led to a goal. You can't ask for much more than that.

We're happy with signing Charlie Adam?

ffs, we're LFC.We should be steaming in for Nasri, Modric, Sneijder etc.Charlie Adam? Not what we need at all.Raul was superb last year, will he be taking his place?

Who else do we need? Besides a good squad needs different kind of players, and a 'fat ADAM' is one of them, it's true, we need him and also another creative CM, left back, and a winger, we're completed.

I hope you're not one of those who said, 'carrol 30m wtf?'

There will be games where we don't need lucas in the side. He's very ineffective against the cloggers.

And what do you think he should be doing against the 'cloggers'?
What exactly did Masch do against these sides that made him so much better?

Welcome Charlie!!

Together with Aquilani you will run the show in the first couple of games...;D
One thing does need to be said: in the post-Benitez era, there was media-led clamour (but also some politicking going on at the club) to make the club more English; the idea being that the club had lost the very essence of what it means to be ‘Liverpool’. Guillem Ballague 18/11/10

Did I say he went missing in the chelsea and united games? Did I really???

Also, you really have little credibility here when your suggesting that Torres, Maxi, Cole, Gerrard etc. were candidates for player of the year. Whats your point here?

And like I said, the lad did well, he was better than those, but he was injury free, and reletively consistent. He's hardly a world beater though.

Masch was 5 times the DM he is.

Oh ok, so you implied that he goes missing against the likes of Stoke and Blackpool but bosses those big teams? I should retract my statement though because it is not strictly accurate. You didn't mention big teams. You just implied he went missing against all the mid-to-low-table teams.

How am I losing credibility by mentioning those? Those were the only ones that could have challenged him for the POTY as a matter of fact. We didn't have Messi so I can't list him unfortunately.

By your shoddy logic though, if Lucas is the best of a bad bunch...he is still the best of a bad bunch and the others should be replaced before he is.

Because Kenny Dalglish was a massive Rangers fan but went on to be a Celtic star? There is a difference between being a professional player and a being a professional fan.

I didn't bring anime into this. Stick to frothing about one thing at a time.

You've also misrepresented my position. I said because Dalglish has done so well and because we have the money now we question these buys less. If we bought Henderson for 16m with all the CMs we have on the books when Hodgson was in charge the forums would have been angry. You can deny it all you like but that is what would have happened. Adam, a good player, but the depth we have also makes the buy frivolous. Thank god it is relatively cheap though.

LOL @ not being taken seriously. Haha, I am dying inside. Good one.

I say what I say because I feel it is the truth. However, it is more than clear that a lot of people here just post to toe the line.

I think people would have questioned Hodgson for buying messi for a fiver by the end of his time here to be honest.

He was shit, therefore got questioned. Dalglish is not shit and has yet to show any signs of becoming shit, so gets questioned less, and rightly so. The comparisons between our fans opinions of the two are just utterly fucking pointless.

I'm a bit underwhelmed to be honest.Adams a good footballer but is he what we want to carry us back to the pinnacle of the league and to where we belong?

Anyone who expects a single player to be responsible for 'carrying us' to the 'pinnacle' doesn't understand or care to understand the nature of this club, the nature of what Kenny is building, the nature of success being a collective effort by a squad of talented individuals, and shows not just ignorance, but a pathetic amount of impatience, never mind an ignorance of the qualities of this player and how he will fit into our mission.

I think what's most irksome is how some people are so lacking in patience and imagination, the imagination to try and work out exactly what Kenny sees in the players we are trying to sign and actually are signing and how they will serve us. Thats just absolutely lazy.

There's a few wooden ones attracted to this thread, isn't there. Must be the warm weather or something.

This is a great signing. He was one of the stand out players in the PL last season. Anyone bitching about us not getting players like Nasri, Xavi, or even Messi are just blinded by the exotic name tag. If it ends in an 'o' an 'i' or an 'S'  then invariably they must be good. That's the mode of thinking behind that, oh, and it sounds good. But if you're called Charlie Adam, then that's less exotic and you must be shite. Then again, there were these players with none flattering names like John Barnes, Peter Beardsly and Robbie Fowler. They'd shit names too.

My favoured formation for next season:

----------Reina--------------------------
-----Agger ----Carragher-------------
----------- Lucas------------------------
Gerrard - Aquilani - Meireles - Adam
Suarez---- Carroll ------------- Kuyt

Subs: Maxi, Spearing, Johnson etc etc

Negotiating it down to that?

Don't see the problem here. It's not even like he's missed out pre-season with us. He's missed 3 days (assuming they've trained all 3 days) of pre-season. He'll be involved in all of the games, and the tour, and the vast majority of the training.

Not like we've parachuted him in on the the 31st of August.

Why do people keep mentioning Konchesky in relation to this deal? Are they just making it up in their own heads or is there actually any basis for this in reality?
