fuck fuck fuck fuck fuck. We've been very good with the ball against them, absorbing game of football, but Arsenal have prepped a little better than last time. Still, they really are a second rate team defensively under Wenger. Unfortunately we're not much better in that regard, though more numbers in a 3 centre back system may help in open play.

Enjoyed watching us there.

Coutinho and Markovic have been outstanding. It has been a quite superb move so far from Rodgers to move him to a wing back position, he reminds me of Hamsik, Markovic needs to be breaking into space to do his best work, he's more easily managed when having to work high, starting under pressure. In this position he may start justifying a part of his fee, and he has to thank his manager a fair bit for that.

Everybody and their dog knew that we were going to concede from that set piece the moment it was awarded. Arsenal knew it, and I have a feeling Martin Skrtel did too. A shame really, as it's soured what has been one of the best first halves I've seen us play in years.

We're getting there. The goal we conceded doesn't make for good viewing but they rarely do. Arsenal have been poor in the first half so you would imagine they will get better in the second.

Hopefully we can produce the same again second half..

Coutinho has been magical and hopefully that continues in the second half. Lallana's twists and turns haven't quite come off today but they only need to do so once and he's created himself an opening. Plenty to be positive about so I just want us to continue with the same verve. Sakho has kept Sanchez quiet which is quite something.

There's no communication along that back line at all. Skrtel, eyes on the ball, doesn't know who's behind him and gets caught on the back foot. Shocking goal to concede.

Other than that, it's been a consummate performance. Our possession game has improved a lot, and there's a big difference with two natural wide men on the pitch in Lallana and Markovic. We'd be pissing this if we'd a recognised forward or two up front.

Markovic has been the best player of the half. We dominated the game and didn't give Arsenal any time to settle. Everything was good in that first half apart from their soft goal. If we can keep our heads in the final third then we'll win. However we must prevent soft goals. Arsenal did nothing that half and played like a first division team.
