Apparently Roma are also signing Stekelenburg? Gonna be a very competitive season next year.

For 7m. A fucking steal considering the Mancs payed 20 for De Gea

Quick update on the last couple of days:

- River Plates Argentinian sensation Erik Lamela will complete his 12 million dollar move to Roma tonight. "President Daniel Passarella is in Italy to negotiate the sale of Erik Lamela to Roma,” read a statement on the River Plate website.

- Bolognas defender Miguel Britos is '99 per cent a Napoli player'. The fee is around 10 million (bit pricey) but it might be reduced by the inclusion of such players as Jose Sosa and Aronica. “We cannot make it official yet, as we wait for Aurelio De Laurentiis to do that, but we are very close, I’d say that Britos is 99 per cent a Napoli player. The other 1 per cent will be put in place by De Laurentiis, as is only right.” Bologna Vice-President Maurizio Setti told Radio Kiss Kiss.

- Romas two keepers are on the verge of leaving. Julio Sergio is heading to Malaga, and Doni to Liverpool. They may try for Palermo's Salvatore Sirigu who has rejected the clubs latest contract offer.

- Siena have reached an agreement for Udinese midfielder Gaetano D'Agostino, the club confirmed

Bojan & Lamela will add a lot to Roma's attacking power. With Borreilo, Vucinic, Menez and Totti I can see Roma being a force next season. They still need to add to their defense though as they have lost Mexes while Burdisso and Juan aren't that reliable IMO.

Strong rumours they're signing Stekelenburg too. Making some good moves in the market so far.

All the more so if they have him for a reported £7m only. Considering De Gea's fee it's a steal.

Fiorentina didn't make his co-ownership permanent and shame for D'Agostino that he'll have to sign for Siena. A pretty good midfielder who was linked with top clubs a couple of seasons ago.

It was, was a spelling error in the story I read 21=12 ;D

Anyway looks like Inter's buying Jonathan, a right back from Santos and Inler will finally join Napoli.

Finally one of the longest running transfer sagas in recent memory has finished. Gokhan Inler, Udinese's champion midfielder has moved to Napoli for around 12 million. Good signing IMO, and we don't have to hear about it again which is also good.

Red Alberto Aquilani is also being linked with a move back to Fiorentina, according to reports in the Italian media.

They have a pretty strong attack, with Hernanes charging up from midfield as well and chipping in with some goals. I expect one of Mauro Zarate, Rocchi or Floccari to be moved on, since they only play the 2 up front.

Latest Serie A news in the last week or so:
JUVENTUS

- Guissepe Rossi could be moving to Juventus by the end of the week, the two clubs just have to agree a fee. This would probably put an end to their pursuit of Atletico Madrid ace Sergio Aguero and Man City's Carlos Tevez.

"This could be the week when a number of deals may be done, including Giuseppe’s,” representative Federico Pastorello told Sky Sport 24.

- Bayer Leverkuson's Arturo Vidal is also interesting the Bianconeri and could make an offer now that the Copa America has finished.

- Amauri and Felipe Melo have been left out of the squad to travel for their US tour. They have both been linked with moves back to Brazil.

INTER

- The Italian Football Federation [FIGC] have confirmed that they are not able to strip Inter of the 2006 Scudetto.  ;D

- Sao Paulo starlet Casemiro could be the latest Brazilian to join the Serie A, as Inter have confirmed their interest in the player. Casemiro is also keen for a move to the San Siro where he can join up with fellow youngster Coutinho.

- Marco Branca, Inter director, has stated that Wesley Sniejder is 'not for sale'. Ferguson has also ruled out the possibility of signing him so it looks like the Dutchman is staying at Inter for the next year. (Overjoyed with the news, however with the money we would have received we most certainly have went for Pastore given his latest indication that he would like to stay in Italy).

ROMA

- Roma have confirmed their interest in Liverpool's Emiliano Insua, but Ajax have closed off any discussions with the Romans about keeper Maarten Stekelenburg.

- Roma are confident of signing talisman Daniele De Rossi to a new deal, which currently runs out next summer. He has been linked with Real Madrid, Chelsea and Manchester United. (Never knew his contract expires in 2012, could be a great signing for a relatively low price though I'm sure he'll sign a new one soon)

THE REST OF THE LEAGUE

- Fiorentina has stripped Italian international Riccardo Montolivo of the captaincy after refusing a new deal. AC Milan and Inter are circling. Teammate Juan Vargas is also interesting Aston Villa after impressive performances at the Copa America with Peru.

"We have been clear with Montolivo. I asked his agent if he wanted to continue with us, but the response was that a decision has been made," Corvino told Sportmediaset.
"Having looked at Montolivo's will, we will now see what solutions the transfer market offers us. We only want motivated players for our future

- Portuguese keeper Eduardo is headed to Benfica on a one year loan deal from Genoa after a horrid season in goal.

- Siena young gun Souleymane Coulibaly has signed with Tottenham after an incredible U17 world cup. (Would've loved to see him in action in the Serie A where he would have had more a chance to break in the first team than at Spurs)

- Milan are unlikely to make a move for Napoli's Marek Hamsik, Brazilian Ganso is looking the more likelier option.

True, although they may still make a move  for him considering that Jose Angel is the only recognized left back at the club, and to provide a little competition for the spot.

In other news, Milan and Juventus target Danilo has moved from Santos to Porto in a 13 million dollar deal. Robert Aquafresca has also moved to Bologna from Genoa in a loan deal with an option to buy.

I would be interested to get some feed back as well, his goal scoring record doesn't seem that impressive but he clearly likes the odd 'wonder goal'.

Mirko Vucinic is a great talent, who is also captain of the Montenegrin national team. His best position is sort of an inside forward on the left, using his speed and dribbling ability to cut inside and score like you said, some fantastic goals. He can also play upfront or on the wing, usually picking up the ball from deep and can strike the ball with either foot. He's always a threat, every time Roma play us, he always looks capable of scoring. There was one incredible goal he scored against Chelsea a couple of years back, started from inside his half and took the team on himself, absolutely brilliant. But with his brilliance, comes his inconsistency which is his major downfall. Still an offer of about 15-17 million should get him as he wants to leave and is on the market. If I had to compare him to a player, it certainly isn't Berbatov, it would probably be Cristiano Ronaldo without the tricks and obviously on a lower level.

His scoring record over the last 5 years is pretty good for someone who doesn't play as typical striker:

Quote
2006–07    Roma    Serie A    32    3
2007–08    Roma    Serie A    48    14
2008–09    Roma    Serie A    38    17
2009–10    Roma    Serie A    43    19
2010–11    Roma    Serie A    36    11

I think he would be a good signing for Redknapp, but don't expect a typical and consistent goal poacher. He will excite and infuriate you at the same time.

Word on the street is Paratici (head of sports) and Agnelli are in Germany finalising a deal for Arturo Vidal. Seen as a direct replacement for Melo who's been told the moment an offer is made he's gone.

*edit: Now being reported deal worth an inital €10m plus accomplishment based bonuses, 5 yr deal @ ~€50k p/week

Looks like Juve are getting Giuseppe Rossi and Vidal by the end of the week. Even though I hate to say it, they've had a brilliant transfer campaign this summer, brought in some real quality in all areas. Plus Michel Bastos might also be on the way, good times for the Bianconeri.

Vidal for just over 10 million euros (as reported) is an absolute steal for Juve. Important career decision for Rossi, but I think it might serve him well playing back in his homeland. Even Lippi himself has endorsed the move both for him and Juve and also spoke of his regret for not picking him for the World Cup.

On the other hand, it will be interesting to see how Roma under Enrique and his philosophy will fare this coming season. Will keep a close eye on them

He is better value, that's a given. As for Aguero any fan of any team would love to have him but I don't think you'll find too many that will be dissapointed to sign Rossi.

Vidal is a steal, him and Sahin are proving to be a harsh reminder for the Bundesliga teams to renew contracts. I'll say this though, I'm surprised the Bastos deal hasn't gone through yet. Everyone in the business was saying it'd get done and their still hagglign over a price :-\

Vidal is highly rated in the Bundesliga, but evertime I've seen him he's flattered to decieve - most recent being the Copa America. But I've read hes come off a brilliant season so for 12 million it seems like a great buy, although he's supposed to be a bit of a headcase (in that sense a perfect replacement for Felipe Melo  ;D).

The Bastos deal seemed certain at the start of the window, but its supposedly gone cold - there has been many updates regarding it. He will be good for them, he can fill in at left back if Ziegler doesn't work out for them, and will add some real quality to the left of midfield either way. If it goes through, that will be another 16-18 million off Juventus' hands, and will bring the spending towards the 100 million mark. Insane for a club without European football.

Other transfer news: Greek defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos has moved from Genoa to Werder Bremen on a loan with a view of a permanent move (This could pave the way for Mertersacker to move to Arsenal or Liverpool). Italian international Antonio Candreva has moved to Cesena from Udinese on loan.

Vidal is a brilliant signing. Especially for that price.

And, If they get Bastos they will most probably be playing 4-4-2. Matri upfront with Rossi off him. Krasic and Bastos as wingers with Vidal and Marchisio/Pirlo in the central midfield. Looks really good.

Official : Bojan to Roma for 12 million euros.

Barcelona have announced on their official website that they have reached an agreement with Roma for the transfer of striker Bojan Krkic, for a fee of €12 million. As well as agreeing an initial fee, the deal includes a clause that allows the Spanish giants to buy Bojan back for €13m at the end of the 2012-13 season. Should the Italian side wish to block the move and keep the 20-year-old, the overall cost of the transfer would rise considerably to €40m.

Interesting, if hes a major success, Barca could get him back on a relatively low price. Personally I think he will do well there, with Luis Enrique he will also adjust to the playing style the coach is going to implement. Totti and Bojan could be a great partnership.

Roma have also signed two other players last night. Ex Manchester United, Real Madrid and most recently Marseille defender Gabriel Heinze on a one year deal after being released. Also 20 year old Nantes defender Loic Nego signed for the Romans.

Fiorentina has signed midfielder Andrea Lazzari from Cagliari. The 27-year-old arrives in a co-ownership deal from Cagliari, so Fiorentina have bought out half of his contract. This could put an end to speculation that Alberto Aquilani will be joining Fiorentina from Liverpool as the two play in the same position. Cagliari have made a signing of their own though bringing back fans favourite David Suazo from Inter on a one year deal with an option for a second.

Last piece of transfer news that will please Juventus fans, is that troubled midfielder Felipe Melo has joined Galatasaray on loan for 1.5 million. If they want to make it permanent they will have to stump up 13 million at the end of the season. Bayer Leverkuson's Arturo Vidal replaces him at the Bianconeri.
