Roy is a terrible manager. No doubts there.

But Gerrard is on £110,000+ A WEEK.

On Wednesday I went to the game and he couldn't be arsed

LFC Club Captain. £110k a week.

Can't be fucking arsed.

Not sure this is brilliant. Fucking hell. More money than I earn in 3 or 4 years. And he can't be arsed.

Cant see the players or fans buying this. How can a manager who has effectively been given a vote of no confidence stay in charge and hold any respect. What a mess.

why does it have to be someone out of a job?  they can always get their manager of choice to resign from his current job, with appropriate compensation

Doesn't have to be, was just thinking who is readily available right away.

Can any one explain this to me?

Why would Roy get a payout for being fired when his performance is so poor?

not with comolli here

The fact that they are unwilling to hand over the reigns to Kenny is disappointing.

if say they want him for the short term and they want someone younger next season and he does really well then it'll cause far too many problems

Go for Kenny as caretaker.

Sign Jurgen Klopp at the end of the season.

He brings Mario Gotze and Nuri Sahin  or Lucas Barrios with him.

I think they're being quite clever in playing the media game. They're not 'sacking' him - and thus risking the media backlash that might necessarily involve. They're just saying he isn't the long term solution. That will however make his position untenable to the point that he has to leave by 'mutual consent' (and we all know what that means..)..

Some saying "old news" etc. The fact FSG have essentially said "put this message out" is what is most significant about tonight's stories.

  JimBoardman  Jim Boardman
Keep an eye on http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/liverpool/ for the Telegraph's take on this later tonight (probably 11pm).

  JimBoardman  Jim Boardman
I know at times it feels like nothing's happening, but from various bits and pieces I hear FSG are working hard to get us fixed again.

  JimBoardman  Jim Boardman
The only negative stuff I hear is when people (we all do it) assume the lack of activity means FSG are sat on their backsides doing nothing.

Although I'm anxious that we get rid of Roy, I actually find Fenway's idea here quite reassuring. They aren't making a populist short term decision, as is so often done in football. They are waiting to find the right man. I believe this will be good for us in the long term, even if the next couple of months make for horrible viewing.

In my opinion there is no way a manager will be left in charge for another 5 months if the decision has been made to get rid of him. NESV keep their powder dry until they need to speak, this is what they did during the takeover. As we speculated on here about who was looking at the books they worked away in the background and went public when it became clear that an epic swindle was required to seal the deal. There is panic on here now as it seems they are starting the search now, I find this hard to believe, they will have identified candidates and will embark on speaking to them.

If they agree terms with their chosen candidate we will see a new man in charge and this could be sooner than we think. They have not shown us anything to suggest they don't know what they are doing we should let them get their man. If they feel it is going to take longer, ie release from another club, then Roy will be gone and we will have to appoint a caretaker. They won't leave him to float along. Regarding the twitter and petitions, well I feel they are wrong for Liverpool fans. We laugh at the Barca hankies and Newcastle carry on, yet we are as bad by doing this.

Let them do their job, we will only hear what they want us to, but they deserve the chance to make their biggest decision of their tenure. Sure it is hard to watch what is going on, we all seen a grown man cry the other night on the telly, but that is precisely why they will also know what is happening and will be doing all in their power to ensure it doesn't happen again.
Slowly but surely the cogs of the red machine are beginning to turn again.

Hodgson has to go. No argument. IF he had any class. IF any of his Scouse roots (missus and dad) rubbed off he would have done the honourable thing.

He has NO honour. NO class.

Roy please look at yourself. Is this really how you would like to be remembered by people around here? While you have a tiny bit of dignity. do the right thing. For you. For us. For football. For your career.
