Get Harry Wilson on the bench at least.
It's true to say that if Shankly had told us to invade Poland we'd be queuing up 10 deep all the way from Anfield to the Pier Head.

For me, how we end the season largely depends on how we do in this game. If we win this, suddenly we're out of that winless run and only a point behind Spurs (and Arsenal - at most) and with a sense of optimism. Lose, and well, the top 4 finish then looks like a huge ask.

This will be the first time since before Christmas that we've had a full week to prepare for a fixture.

Just one thing, it's on the 11th, not the 12th, right? At least according to the official site:

That would explain the 17.30 kickoff. Thought that was a bit late for a Sunday.

I'm going to say it - must win. I'm not accepting a draw here.

This winless streak needs to end right now, and they all need to fuckin turn up under pressure for once.

These are the games we need to collect points so that our destiny remains in our hands. I can't see us winning this match though. We've been abject of late. I hope Klopp and the lads can turn it around.

Despite your dodgy form of late, I can't say I'm looking forward to this one at all. We've really struggled against you in our recent matchups - home and away. Bizarrely we usually came off quite well when Redknapp was in charge!

Yep true.

We outplayed you for long periods in the away game, and should have been 2-0 up with that wrongly disallowed goal.

4 of our next 6 games are against our rivals so thats 4 games I won't worry about cos we always turn up for them, need to be winning them though! Have Leicester in there too so if they carry on being shit we have a chance to get some momentum going. Says it all that the only upcoming game I worry about is Burnley.

Gini in for Can, yeah. But the others should be nowhere near the first team barring any major injuries.

Don't play Can and Henderson next to each other please. And then I'd like us to show some decent attacking potential again from our top three. With Lallana in the midfield.
And can Milner regain some form also, I'd like that.

If the team scores first we will win this comfortably.

The problem is if we are 0-1 down or 0-0 at 50/60mins then it could get very nervous for both supporters and players. Really is a must win crunch game.

Totally agree, amad arm wrestle, but I hope we get a break in this game. I can't bring myself to look at the Hull game nor read the analysis post-match thread nor this thread either because what's the point ? These are not bad players, none of them are, they know how to win a game and what to do in any situation. It's all down to CONFIDENCE for me. Whatever it takes we gotta win and we have had sweet FA luck this year so far so for God/Allah/wakintanka/whomever sake give us a break and let us win and let these guys find their mojo again.

Honestly it's time some of these players realised there not bullet proof, they've been underperforming for well over a month (some would argue months, even years) and getting away with it whilst our manager gets the ridicule, there's only so much a manager can defend the players whilst they continuously under perform.

My team would be....

                       Karius
 Clyne.   Matip.    Lovren.    Moreno

                  Henderson
        Lallana.       Wijnaldum

  Mane.      Firmino       Coutinho

Subs: Manninger, Klavan, Milner, Ejaria, Woodburn, Sturridge, Origi

Yes no Mignolet, Lucas or Can in the squad, players who've repeatedly directly cost points.

I'm sure there was one footballer on planet earth available that's more suited to the defence than Lucas. Hull signed Ranocchia on loan and he looked better on Saturday than Lucas ever has been.

  Mane --- Sturridge/Origi --- Firmino

Swapped Llanana for Gini anyway cause not sure Adam can do central midfield without sacrificing the defence a bit

Hendo is fine but Can needs dropped! They're not a good combo

Usually it's a five man midfield, and there is a third midfielder to help out the two for the most part. hendo and gini alone, leaving our defense exposed, with that line up, with Moreno at the back. It would be a disaster.

Clyne --- Matip --- Lovren --- Moreno

     Woodburn Lallana  -- Coutinho

  Mane --- Sturridge ---
So you'd throw Stewart into an intense game like this, in an area that Tottenham like to overload? Which would also take him away from the left where Moreno and Coutinho would then have to defend Eriksen's movement and Walker's overlaps. Plus throwing Woodburn into a demanding role that could see him up against Dembele and Wanyama, and placing Lallana into a key central position where he'd have to help feed Mane and Sturridge, despite not having had a good game arguably since 2016.

Stewart is the only real DM player we've barring Lucas and I would rather Stewart than Lucas now.

As for Woodburn the lad has shown more in midfield than Can, Hendo and Gini and he is fearless.

We need to mix it up now. We have become predictable and senior players not stepping up.

The only kid I'd consider playing now our senior players are available (though not against Tottenham) is Trent instead of Clyne.
For all his qualities, Clyne is extremely one dimensional and predictable in attack.
