Screen Recorder recommendations
« on: April 14, 2017, 09:21:48 pm »

Done my research, tried a few out and I am drawing blanks here - anyone got any recommendations for a Chrome-side screen recorder that doesn't hide it's major features behind a paywall?

Most I've seen have had their features in pro versions - just looking for something that doesn't watermark and outputs to more than just shitty WMV or FLV.

Doesn't vlc fit the bill?

If it doesn't actually record it'll convert from the formats you mentioned... but i think it does record/capture screen input.

Tried most of them - they each have their own limitations in some form or another that can be unlocked for a quick buck; so frustrating man...

I didn't think that VLC records videos? Might give it a try... Going to try OBS - looks a bit complicated, but have been doing a lot of reading on it and it definitely has a good following...

Cheers fellas.

My lad uses OBS for screen recording and live streaming, he's only 10 and and got it up and running mostly by himself. I know there's some advanced features but the basic setup seems easy enough to configure.

Yeah...  Been messing about with it and following some online stuff - very good piece of software. In fact, it is like VLC...

Very, very impressed. Would recommend.
