My point is that Klopp couldn't offer him enough game time, because he was being fair and honest.
Which is something other less scrupulous managers don't have a problem with. I also believe Klopp's assessment of Joe was based on a period where Joe was below par.

Allen wouldn't have played any more this season, less with us not being in Europe. The only times he'd have started in the league was any time we where forced to play Can and Henderson in the same starting 11. He'd not be getting in very often ahead of Lallana or Gini unless they where struggling.
Allen played his best football for Liverpool under Jürgen Klopp, which is kinda damning I guess of his time under Rodgers here, so he was working with what he had I guess! He clearly liked him and appreciated how he played though, so I'm sure he saw enough which is why he would have been happy if he'd still got him here.
