Serious subject I know ... but this Donation comment tickled me:

Dear Mr Crompton, Please use my donation to purchase:1. A really massive dildo 2. A family-sized tub of Fiery Jack. Plunge #1 into #2 before doing what I'd like you to do with it. JFT96.

Costs seem hugely excessive for responding to an application. I'm sure these will be reduced on assessment, hopefully significantly, or there will be a more proportionate agreement made between the parties on costs given the circumstances.

It's not responding though isn't it, it's basically five separate intervener's applications (or just one joint? Article is not clear) which was found unmeritorious.

That being said it seems excessive and no doubt it will be reduced on assessment. Not sure if the English Procedural Rules have costs guidelines for this kind of thing, thought there would be.
You're all too fucking serious, the lot of you. Relax, we don't really matter.

Oh, and we should have an in's and out's topic, stickied.

I am a bit shocked that they haven't already reached their target. I would have thought that almost anyone that calls themselves a Liverpool fan would have chucked some money into the pot.

Too right, I'm an armchair fan living on the other side of the world, but it's still easy to see how massively wrong this is even from all the way over here.  You don't have to live in Liverpool or know any of the families to get off your arse and chuck a few quid in.  Come on lads and lasses! Up to 43% now...
Man up and support you bunch of pussies. We just spotted Chelsea our best player and pwned them at the Bridge.

Surely someone employed by the club can get involved and help the families with this substantial cost.
It's true to say that if Shankly had told us to invade Poland we'd be queuing up 10 deep all the way from Anfield to the Pier Head.

Bump. Really need to get this going again.

I am not a big fan of crowd funding etc. But the families' having to fork out this cash for such an absolute waste of space as Cromptom really sticks in my gullet. Please just stick a few bob  in the pot.

I bunged in £30 pretty early on. However if everyone at Anfield last Saturday had put 50p in they would have pretty much got there by now.

So come on just a bit to help the cause.

By the way I have absolutely no particular connection with these families. Some of my friends and family were there but all survived and I was not there. Therefore I have no especial personal axe to grind.

Page still there Annie.   45% of target raised.

Thx to all who have chipped in.   I'd encourage anyone who can spare £20 or so to chip in.   I know some of those family members and the worry about the costs is concerning to many.   They are ordinary people and don't have that sort of cash lying around.

I've tweeted it to Labour Politics zone; they automatically retweet what you tweet. 1,500+ followers.
Gets it seen, in theory, at least! (I do see genuine stuff going through it, twitter isn't all bots - plus I dgaf, this is worth spreading)

Might be an idea if anyone else knows any other "retweet" accounts

10 days since this thread was posted, nearly three and a half thousand views, still not even halfway to the target :(

If everyone who'd read this had stuck a few quid in they'd be there comfortably.

Just donated - they should never have had to pay this..........what an utter disgrace !
The end of that Guardian says it all really. In the first inquests, 42 families had to pay £3000 each of their own money to pay for a single barrister.........whereas police and other organisations were funded publicly for their lawyers. But now those inquests have been overturned they should be forced to pay back the original costs....instead of us taxpayers having to foot the bill ! Fucking system stinks.

Please put into this fund. RAWK has thousands of members, surely everyone could throw £1 sterling into the pot without missing it. If everyone did that they would reach the target and have money to spare for Alder Hey.

Go on just do it. a quid would be ace!
