Heard one of the F1 guys on Sky saying that Ferrari are concerned that they've some fundamental design mistakes, I think he said about the back-end of the car.  Though there was a bit of a thing about the suspension and Ferrari moaning recently, so maybe it's that?

Similarly, I sometimes wish that the team location/base was included in the name.  To casual followers, the history of a team that's changed ownership a few times can be lost and I think 'teams' like the Enstone-based outfit deserve a bit more recognition for their historical exploits.

Im sure Eddie Jordan mentioned a few years back that some of the guys are still there from the Jordan days and he goes to celebrate with them when they get a podium.

Shark fin and whale tale removed from that Ferrari? Or is that the modified 2015 car they used for recent tests?

Really fascinated by the upcoming season, and I'm looking forward to seeing what testing will teach us.

Hopefully, the Renault and Honda units can tighten things up a bit and make the battle for points a bit more interesting.  I imagine Haas and Renault have the backing and willpower to develop well, and STR and Force India always start positively and remain competitive for a good half season.  Williams and Sauber are the two I fear for a bit, despite them both being long-established and no doubt having decent experience within their ranks.

Do like me some of that Toro Rosso.

Are any of the teams using non-2017 engines this year?

These fins are bloody awful.  The Merc didn't have one, but I fear it will develop one in time as their spine looks identical to the one on the 2016 car.

I don't know about other cars, but the packaging of the back of the Merc is unbelievably tight.  Significantly more so than last year...

Not sure I approve of the new aero tweaks on the Merc.  It means Lewis can get Chanel 5 though

Oil issue means McLaren wont be testing for some hours yet.

Sensor issue stopped Ricciardo. Times from everyone are fast though, already quicker than last years in just a few laps.

why

testing always has stuff like this.

every car will have teething problems. they are new cars expected to do obscene speeds out of the box.

every year testing has problems for just about every team.

Have to agree with this:

Quote
09:59 It's not good news for McLaren-Honda to be sat in the garage chasing some kind of oil system problem. The engines coming to this test should all be test-bench run and where the engine connects up to the system of the car should be bulletproof. Using the excuse that this is testing and things will go wrong is rubbish because you only have eight days and you need to hit the ground running. Losing a big part of a day is time you will never recover, and by the time the McLaren runs again, most of its rivals will have built up a lot of mileage. We've seen a lot of finger problems for McLaren and Honda during the past few years, and maybe this is the same again. Not a good start to testing.
