Where does Ian fucking Ayre stand in all this. The c*nt should have walked with Brendan, if as per reports, he spoke for him v the owners. There's been one constant throughout our run of mediocre managers and teams, and that's him.

@BenSmithBBC: FSG have long admired Jurgen Klopp, philosophically he fits and the 'project' #LFC now is, certainly appeals to him http://t.co/iEgGKBJVP7

Although other reports say that they've been warned off him.... Hmmm

Would have been Rafa after the Stoke game.

I'm too sour to really call a sane choice now, this is all too messy.

It'll be interesting to see the reaction if FSG go for another 'young and upcoming' manager - with the transfer committee still in place.

Strange timing to sack the manager after only 8 league games into the new season (after giving him money and a new staff too) - but I suppose other clubs will be sounding out managers' availability too, maybe we had to act now to ensure we get that person in before we lose them to other clubs?

I'm off to brush up on my German and get some Stephen Merchant type glasses...

Of course Klopp or Ancelotti would be ideal. But i know FSG also have their eyes on Frank De Boer and Andre Vilas-Boas.

Klopp is a good fit for us.
Ancelotti has worked at top clubs, won titles but he always had world-class players to work with. I'm not sure if it would be a good idea to bring him mid-season.

I can only dream of FSG catching everyone by surprise and bringing in Ernesto Valverde (now coach of Bilbao). He is exactly what we need now. As close to Rafa as you can get. Definitely better option than FDB or AVB.

The big question for me is the structure.

Klopp would be an excellent choice, but he's never had responsibility for the one aspect that requires the most work in order to fix the mess we're in - recruitment.  Are we going to appoint a DOF at the same time?  If so, who is it going to be?  What changes are to be made to the transfer committee/scouting setup?

It could all go pear-shaped very easily, this, even with the right managerial appointment if we don't appoint at the same time a recruitment team that can get the right players (and get the right money for the players the new manager wants to let go).
Managers who have won fewer than three European Cups: Ferguson, Mourinho, Guardiola, Saachi, Hiddink, Hitzfeld, Clough, Happel, Trapattoni, Cruyff, Michels, Lobanovsky, Capello, and many more.
Managers who have won three or more European Cups: Bob Paisley
