Anyone flying back on 27th Nov via Athens or anywhere in Greece. My mate has just had to get a new ticket to get home on the Thu, due to a strike by Greek air traffic controllers. Anyone in Sofia know any more about this?

Few flags took .. The 'Defiance' flag notably. Any flag is fair game in Europe people should know by now the risk of taking flags to European away games.

Not the best performance but we are still in with a shout, was freezing last night but the odd flare going off here and there helped to keep us warm   :).

Great trip for me and my lad though, bumped into quite a few lads we already new and a couple of new faces too.

Just been sent this pic of me and my lad by my brother in law, from the Echo online,

i watched the chelsea game at my sisters. her 12 year old son is severly autistic and i forgot myself and jumped up screaming at the goal and he went nuts. screaming and shouting. scared the fuck out of me. apologised to my sister as i thought id upset him, turns out he was joining in.

What a trip. Feeling terrible now, gonna take ages to recover.

We were meant to be on that Athens flight, went down the airport and they sorted us onto a flight to Bucharest and then onto Heathrow.
They all laugh at us, They all mock at us, They all say our days our numbered.

Agreed I'm going to feel like shite in work tomorrow! Just got on the train in Euston and I'll be back in Liverpool about midnight, well worth it though it's been a great trip. Saw a few off here including hoppy and his lad and sharkeyb and gregor who are on the train somewhere I think, I'm going to wonder down and see if I can find them in a bit.

Oh my god what a brilliant trip.  The CSKA bar and their fans in the Army Stadium before the game was brilliant, even the Irish bar the night before was great - cheap beer, lot of good songs got an airing, and we bettered Basel's result.

Best trip of the season, by a long way - one of the best in recent memory.

See youse all in Dortmund in March.

Agreed, great fun with CSKA...can you post/send me the banner pic?

Smallest taxi ever for the four of us to get there  ;D

And of course the dreaded trophy room cabinet from the really sound bloke (living legend apperently) that lives in the stadium  :lmao

Choccy bars, Plum schnapps firewater thingys and confiscated massive pyro- ahem! - all added to the fun for this ''must win game'' !!!
Would also like to add that I had a very warm welcome and a very long sightseeing/pub crawl with some Bulgarien Reds on Tuesday night, thanks lads and lassies, great fun.

Great trip even if a bit chilly.

Had a decent time in the Irish pub on Matchday and all the other bars we frequented were sound too. Dirt cheap being the biggest bonus!

Was with some good friends and caught up with some old faces too.

P.s. Deffo want a Happy's bar in the UK ;)

Left the house Monday morning 6am and Walked through the front door at 3.30am this morning.

7 of us had a Couple of great nights at Raffys bar. The session after the game was incredible. Don't think i've laughed so much ever. Staggering out of there at 8am two mornings on the bounce.

I am ruined.

Best euro trip ever.  Sofia is a great city with Premium beers and spirits at rock bottom prices. Recipe for disaster. :) didn't see one ounce of trouble and the birds are stunning.

Levski are now my favorite Bulgarian team after our last taxi driver who was Levski mad, managed to convey in very broken English that Everton were 'fucking shit' and 'pigs'. Ok, so he got his 10 Lev tip but he made us all all laugh.

Can't see me singing much at the game today. I'm fucked. :)

Spare a thought for our friends at CSKA Sofia, they just got kicked down to Division 3 due to financial problems...where as I do not know the full story, I will never forget the welcome they gave us when we were there.

Mad bunch and many laughs on that trip, hopefully they can bounce back up.

(EDIT) Seems like they are not the only ones, only story I can find atm..

^ Should of happened 7 years ago. In the meantime they managed to screw a couple of other clubs by not paying transfer fees and getting away with that (of course this goes with the blessing of the FA) and somehow (despite UEFA's regulations) to increase their debt to the staggering (for the country's size) 30 million.

Are you a Ludogrets fan?

As I said I do not know the ins and outs of it all and will openly admit to not being a specialist in Bulgarian football and it's politics, all I wanted to say was that the CSKA fans welcomed us with open arms when we were there and I feel sorry for them for what they are going through now as a fellow football fan.

We were very close to a similar situation ourselves.
