Great free kick from Cyprien to put Nice 1-0 up away at PSG.

This goalkeeper is one of the worst I've ever seen. On this 1 game evidence! Horrific.

Big fan of PSG not walking the league, been dull the last couple of seasons. Monaco have finally got their act together and Nice big spending is paying off for them.

2nd place Monaco have a tough game vs 5th place Lyon later tonight - hopefully they'll drop points and Nice maintain a decent lead :)

Are Monaco certainties against Lyon or what's the general feeling? I've an Accum on and I'm waiting on Monaco. Can cash out at a sizable amount already.

I've no clue about French football unfortunately.

Monaco are 3/4 on to win tonight, Lyon are 7/2 on http://www.oddschecker.com/football/france/ligue-1/monaco-v-lyon/winner

For me, if Monaco aren't 'at it' then Lyon have a decent chance of getting a result. Lyon are a decent side - they keep it tight defensively, are dangerous on the counter with Lacazette and Valbuena is still a threat. Tollisso is out injured though I think (big loss for them when attacking).

Monaco spread the goals around a bit more - and have better quality XI - though can look quite poor at times during games. They are a bit like Arsenal - when they're good they look superb, but can also look pretty lightweight at times (if you saw the 2nd half of the City game today they are a lot like that).

Now that I've jinxed that; 5-0 to Monaco ;)

Monaco are certainly in exceptional form. They haven't lost a Ligue 1 game since 14th October. In their last 8 league games they've won 6 and drew 2, scoring 30 goals in that time! Lyon are in very good form themselves too, to be fair. Should be a few goals in it.

Sidibe is really frustrating. Foul after foul then handles the ball into the Lyon net instead of head it.

1-0 Lyon. The state of the Monaco defence for that goal. All doing the mannequin challenge.

Sidibe is either awful or just playing awful tonight.

Falcao is the same as he was in the PL too. Can't stand up on his feet and very immobile.

This has been a really good game. A fair few more sh*thouse antics from Monaco than I’d expected from watching highlights, but that hasn’t spoiled things. Not an easy match to referee.

I lost a nice bit of money thanks to Monaco but all that aside, they were not good at all tonight. I thought they would trouble City in Europe judging by what I heard. They won't though, can see city easing past them relatively easy.

Another thing, the officiating of this game was brutal too. Ref could not wait to blow the whistle at the hint of a foul.

Monaco's next two league games are PSG away and Nice at home, if they win both of those or even pick up 4 points from those two games it's going to be hard to look past them winning the league.

Monaco have been one of the best teams in Europe for me this season, they have an excellent squad full of talented young players and a brilliant young manager in Jardim.

Nice get a good 1-0 home win vs 5th place St Etienne earlier tonight. A good result after their recent 3-0 loss away vs Monaco.

Still 3 points between the top 3, 14 games remaining... http://www.flashscores.co.uk/football/france/ligue-1/

They got 4 from those 2 but other teams still win as well, PSG won yesterday in the last seconds. I think this goes all the way to the last fixtures.

Monaco leading Metz 5-0

Monaco scored 75 goals in 25 matches so far, that's 25 more than 2nd top goal scorer team PSG, insane stats.

They've been by far the best and most entertaining side in the league so far. In a league which isn't exactly known for its entertainment as well. It'd be a real shame if Monaco don't go on and win it from here.

Kylian Mbappe hattrick for Monaco he's 18 years old, agreed with Monaco they have been a breath of fresh air this season. Leo Jardim is one of the best managers around at the moment and they deserve to win the title this season.

true that.

meanwhile, Nice is locked for that CL spot which is a great achievement, Lyon is doing their best to gift that spot to Nice.

my wild guess is Bakayaka, Bernardo Silva, Mendy, Lemar, Sidibe, Mbappe, Carrillo will all have offers this summer.
Are they a selling club now anyways? I can even see some mid table PL teams putting offers on table for Falcao.

Monaco have so many talented young players. Their squad is very strong.

Possibility that Jardim could replace Wenger at Arsenal? If I was an Arsenal fan and had to go for a shrewd and original option, I'd go for him. He's very pragmatic and tactically flexible - they were a pretty robust and very structured team the last few years and definitely not pretty to watch a few years ago, but this season he added a bit more flair players to the squad and now they're flying. Such tactical flexibility is probably something Arsenal fans are crying out for at the moment. I think he has all the hallmarks of being a great manager, so I just hope he doesn't come to the Premier League! Barca looking for a new manager potentially.... a good punt I'd say.

Anyway, Ligue 1 has its fair share of decent managers. I hear Bielsa is going to manage Lille next season, and on top of that you have Jardim impressing at Monaco and the equally impressive Lucien Favre at Nice. There's more to Ligue 1 than just PSG and this season is proving so.
