As much as I hate him I think he is a magician on the pitch the assist he played to Benezeeeemer the other week was out of this world.

I agree that pass was brilliant and I didn't know he was capable of ot. Rate him a lot more now he's at Madrid, and personally don't hate him.

It must sting a little waking up in the morning and knowing no matter what you do you'll never be a good as Messi.

So, everyone on earth then? ;D

5th. I'm going to be childish and biased and put Suarez ahead of him mate.
Put it another way - who would swap? Not me.

Really? You think Suarez is better than Ronaldo?

He will forever be in Messi's shadow, however what makes him special is that he has devoted himself to being that good, it always seems that Messi was just born with it.

That particular snippet is not really true, is it? Not taking anything away from Ronaldo and how hard he's worked but Messi's gone through a lot of struggle as well. He might've been born with the talent but he's gone through a lot of hardships (watch/read about his life - no one taking a chance on him in Argentina when he was a kid due to his size, the whole drama related to moving to Barcelona, separating from most of his family at the age of 13, having to regularly take growth injections, etc. etc.) to be where he is and who he is. I think that's one of the reasons Messi is so humble.

On another note he did get a bloody ankle, his comments on the ref are spot on, he was pretty bad if anyone watched the game.

if you watch La Liga, Messi is very protected by refs, you can hardly touch the boy and I am npot refering to the fact he is so skillful, Ronaldo gets battered quite often, I can understand why he has his hissy fits sometimes.

The good looking comment made me laugh though I do know many birds who love him.

Really? not sure which La Liga games you've been watching, if anything Messi gets fouled much more than Ronaldo because he stays on his feet, the number of kicks he gets must be at least 5 times more than Ronaldo per game.

Dont hate him anymore, brilliant player. Still annoying but he's phenominal, just winding people up with his comments which he always has done, he says what he thinks rather than hiding it like some other players do and they show their bad side in other ways. I hate the play acting and stuff but will never hold his comments like this against him. He wouldnt be as good a player minus the arrogance

People are kidding themselves when they play down how good he is. he got 40 league goals in la liga last season, FOURTY. Messi was the closest with 31, Messi is still the better player but thats an incredible record and theres no doubt he's the second best player in the world.

OK, you just made that up.
how many La Liga games have you seen?

Ronaldo goes down on the first kick he gets, it takes a lot of kicks for Messi to go down. You only have to look at the last 2 matches between Real and Barca to see the difference. It is at least 5 times as many.

Here you go, this is from 2 years, before Mourinho and his Real Madrid side began commiting even more fouls in the El Clasico games!

You said that Messi must get kicked at least five times per game more than Ronaldo.

Posting a Youtube link to clips from an old match does not make a statistic you fabricated any less fabricated.

However, Messi does seem to go down under duress rather less frequently than Ronaldo.  Of course, if Messi wants to score himself, he also has more incentive to stay on his feet in or around the opposition penalty area because he is not his team's primary penalty or free kick taker (or so I hear--obviously I have never actually watched a game of Spanish football).
