Don't get me wrong, if I were in your shoes I wouldn't take the attitude of "get lost you little scamp, what are they like! pfft", I'd give them what they deserved, it's just there's a fine line between getting their dues and going too far, I think disabling someone is going too far.
These are the days when I hate the world, hate the rich, hate the happy, hate the complacent, the TV watchers, beer drinkers, the satisfied ones. Because I know I can be all of those little hateful things and then I hate myself for realising that.

I think disabling someone is going too far.

I don't. If I ever caught anyone in my house he'd accidentally fall down the stairs during the struggle to keep him out of my six month old's room. So sad, what a shame. Enjoy 60 years of eating through a straw and having your mum wipe your arse for you.

Exactly mate, I dont get where people are coming from when they say scumbags have rights. They dont. I might be out of touch, un PC or whatever but thats the way ive been brought up and thats that. Nobody has the right to threaten yours or your familys safety in your own house EVER. Whatever happens to someone doing this, well its fair game. Is it fair they can come in and take everything you've worked for I say to the do gooders? Is it fair for your missus/kids/yourself to feel unsafe in your own home because of there actions? No it isnt, they get whats deserved.
You're right to an extent. No one has a right to threaten anyone's safety.

But what if the burgler is a 16 year old kid who isn't carrying a weapon, was just looking to sneak in, grab a few things and get out without hurting anyone. You think he deserves death for that?

I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not with the stairs comment, but I'm saying purposely disabling someone is too far, especially if they're not violent in the first place.

Well then, i guess a prison sentence for that would be pretty fair.

A prison sentence? After he came at me with a knife he'd taken from my own kitchen? Can't see it.

No, he had a machete made of fire and an arm that shot out venomous snakes.

I agree with Bigdavalad, what would you do then? Ring the law and wait for them to give you a crime number and let the little twat get 6month and be out in 3? Id break his back if he came near my house or my kids. Nothing less than he deserves in my opinion

To be honest, I probably wouldn't bother. I'd just bury him somewhere and forget all about it. It's not like they tell anyone where they're going thieving. He'll just disappear one night.

You're trying to turn this into a 'Call the police, make em them a cuppa and wait' vs 'Fucking kill them' argument. If someone broke into my house, I'd beat the fuck out of them, I wouldn't try to maim or disable them though, which is what you'd do.

One set of burglars had no problem accosting my sister's partner when he approached them whilst they broke into their home. Probably a defense technique used along with their macho and frightening characteristics if they are caught in the act but I wouldn't say no to giving them a bit back with force seeing as they have no moral obligation in threatening you whilst stealing your belongings on your property (the ones that do anyway).

Now i don't really consider myself a criminal mastermind but it's a tad naive to think  he'll just disappear one night and that's all. Technology is much to advanced for that to happen.

Framing would be the best option.

We are probally very different people mate, ive been inside a few times and ive mixed with some of these c*nts and itd be no loss to society believe me. Some of the stories you hear and the people you meet make your skin crawl. Id want them to suffer just for putting that fear into my missus and kids. The fear would probs stay with them a long time, so id want whatever damage I done to last them the rest of there life. Id destroy them if I got a chance to should it ever happen. Hopefully ill never have to find out. You've got to remember when you catch them in the act they are going to be fighting for there lives, they know they are either going to get hurt or go to prison if you call the police, so you have to do as much damage to them as possible before they pick up a knife or something like that. I wouldnt think twice about it, id try to maim them severly the first chance I got.

You think they're going to DNA profile the entire population and search every single building in the country on the off chance they find where he died? Not a chance.

See that's pretty fucked up.

So's breaking into someone's house and trying to steal their belongings because you're too much of a twat to work for money.

You don't think they have the technology to at least narrow down the search to a particular part of the country? that a cctv camera won't have caught the burglar somewhere close to you? satellite wouldn't be able trace something like his mobile (destroyed or not) to your place?

I'm no sycophant by any stretch of the imagination but you two are 100% spot on. I really can't imagine why people wouldn't defend their missus and kids against an intruder, no matter what the consequences. After all, your not going to stop and ask if they're just a burglar, or maybe a rapist, maybe even a serial killer!

May sound far fetched, but come into my house, I'll drag you onto the landing and throw you down the stairs head first. If that doesn't do the job, I'll drag you back up and do it again.

I defy any man with kids to say different.

If I caught the c*nt, yes. You enter my house and want to steal from me.... enter the house where my kids sleep, supposedly safe and sound, I'd fucking crucify the c*nt.

You do know some burglars boil pans of hot water just in case the occupants come down stairs to lash over them, don't you?

They'd only trace his mobile to the cell, which is quite a few square miles. They'd also see it take a trip to quite a distant location, almost directly opposite where he's buried.

A CCTV camera might see him in the area I live in, but so what? I'm sure CCTV would see him in a lot of places around where he lives, they're still not going to CSI every house in a town even, on the off chance.

Yep. I've got mates who live all over the country. I'm sure plenty of them would be more than happy to take a phone home with them next weekend, call the answer service from it and then throw it in the sea. I also spend a lot of time in a lot of remote places though work. Lots of places where could bury a body and no-one would ever find it.

No one knows what an intruder intends when he breaks into a house. His planned offences could range from murder to arson, surely the law-abiding citizens of this country should be able to sleep easier knowing that they can employ the measures necessary to ensure their household is kept safe.
