Either routing for Stanstead - Vallodolid or to Madrid (which obviously is dearer), going tues returning thurs or fri. Looking at about 70-100 quid.
If he scores more goals than Torres this season ill change me name to Carol.

I'm looking at Barcelona and then travelling to Madrid. What's the cheapest way and how long does it take? I'd suppose coach and about 5 hours.

Harrytrow: is that the way you done the Atleti game mate?
Any info much appreciated.

I've just booked that, Wed morning easyJet too Barca, train too Madrid and back, then home to Manchester on Monarch on the Thursday. All for around £120.

Lads does anyone know that if you apply for a trip with thomas cook as a season ticket holder you will get a ticket from them? or is it still inline with the clubs ticket scheme i.e. you have to have been to 3 or more euro aways?

The proud - yet spineless - Real Madrid put the visiting away fans up in the top level of the stadium (like the fearless Barca) and have even tried recently to organise singing sections (with free tickets FFS!) nearby to try to drown out the away support. No-one in the Bernabeu sings usually, except the 200 ultras behind the goal at the other end.

Accommodation/Drinking meetups:

No specific hotel recommendations - but the hotels near the Bernabeu stadium (Metro: Bernabeu) are very "business" whilst the hotels around Puerta del Sol (Metro: Sol) are a bit less posh (tonnes of hostels) but very central to the bars and shops and most importantly very close to where the reds will be drinking - in Plaza Mayor probably. Closer to match time and afterwards - the Irish Rover megapub would be a good bet. Our little pub, the Triskel, is off the beaten track and way too small to host the support we are expecting over for this game.

For hotels deals, www.tripadvisor.com is a good start.

Some hostel links are:

www.hostelworld.com/hostels/Madrid
www.hostels.com/es.ma.html
www.gomadrid.com/hostels/madrid-hostels.html

The Irish Rover (a huge pub next to the Bernabeu) can be found here:

Avenida del Brasil, 7. Madrid (28020)

Nearest Metro: Santiago Bernabeu

Good luck to those making plans, hope you find a bargain and let us know if you need any further advice.

Make sure you bring  your defibrilator to Madrid Fat Scouser- the hike up to your seat is ten times more tiring than PSV. You will end up spending your retirement there. Oh Sod it! you can borrow mine.

Twats aren't they. barca done exactly the same. I was lovely and tucked up, sitting with a load of locals no problem, steward very nicely offers to put me with me own, near had a fucking heartattack getting there, kept blacking out for lack of oxygen and got locked in after the game for about a fortnight. Think I shall be parking meself right down the front on me todd.

The Champions League website has confirmed it for Wednesday 25 February -there will be another row if it is put back a week. Our hotel is close to Atletico ground so we can expect plenty of Porto mob there.

I could have got a flight one way Alicante-Madrid for 14 euro but it left one hour after landing, so thought against it. The bus from Alicante leaves after midnight monday so it saves on a hotel for the night and am meeting up with Atleti fans before their game so wanted to be there on Tuesday morning and at least that way I can be sure I'll get there, without flight problems etc.
Getting back I'll worry about when I got some more cash. Getting there is all important and I got two weeks to get back for the return, It's a long walk.
